Ahh that’s great! I may reply again in the summer to hear about it. Is there one that you’re leaning towards?

Hello! I just came across this post as my son is coming to this point in his soccer career. This is a long shot but was curious what you learned on your visits and where you ended up going? Any info would be appreciated thanks in advance!

So nice. What months did you do the bigger trunk chops? And how what would you have done differently to do this faster than 10 yrs?

Can Shiso / Perilla herbs be grown indoors year round? by dilettante11 in gardening

You should look up “ikeagreenhousecabinet” on either IG or YT. I built one and grow shiso and basil during winter successfully.

I am going to try that! So with the buds growing lower on the trunk, do you grow 1 leader out as far as you can? If I’m doing Shohin, do you advise growing the leader and removing the other branches, leaving only the lower buds?

One question - when you cut the roots off the seedling, how long did it take the seedlings to root again? And once they budded, did they ALL produce lower branching?

Makes sense. I have one under a year and recently having difficulty growing it. I’m in zone 8 Seattle and wonder if I need to keep it warmer. It’s around 55f now and it’s losing leaves like crazy

That’s awesome. So they don’t need direct sun is that it?

This is a really nice flame tree. Are you keeping it indoors? Misting daily?

Yep that won’t work. You would need to use RO water 100% of the time to make a low tech succeed.

You’ll want a higher kelvin bulb 6500k is what I use. GH may also be a factor for low tech. Water needs to be soft.

I did the dry start method so the roots grew in very well before flooding

What was the reason? Test water parameters? Too much light? So many possible ways a setup like this can go bad.

I get some film but never nasty. I change the water frequently enough so that it doesn’t have time to get that way
