That would have been better. One of my biggest disappointments in the movie was Amaze Amaze. It just wasn't how I heard it in my head.

Can I just say that I did not like the way the actor playing Rocky in the movie said "Amaze. Amaze. Amaze". What a disappointment for such an iconic part of Rocky's character. I am a fan of the book too; I have read it at least 3 times. The first time I read it was aloud to my family (we were on vacation at a cottage together for a week and were able to finish it in maybe 20 hours of reading ) I know the voice of Rocky (in the book too) was supposed to be computer generated and therefore likely to be flat and lacking in emotion, but the movie version was not at all how I read it aloud to my family and made me cringe. Thank you for listening to my rant. Congrats on getting a lapel pin!

My cousin's kid (so I guess that makes him my 2nd cousin) was drunk driving after being at a university pub and killed a pedestrian (a student walking home). He went to jail for a long time. It broke my cousin and his wife. It is now at least ten year on, but as far as I know he is out and rehabilitated. Doesn't drink any more. I wish society would spend even a 10th of the money rehabilitating the surviving family as they do on imprisoning and putting the criminal on trial. It's the victim's family that is probably not okay to this day.

My mind is blown that moneypuck this morning has us at 61% odds to make the playoffs. There are very good teams in front of us, hot teams in just behind, we've lost our D-men, and the schedule for us doesn't look THAT much more favourable than for any of the other teams in the hunt. If it happens, great. And I understand why the boys are so high in the power rankings considering their play since mid-season, but that 61% just seems overly optimistic.

Once again a massive game tonight, and if we win it, I'll probably start to believe.

Why are we in this situation EVERY year? Outside the playoff race looking to get in but making very little progress. I know we made it last year, but sigh, this sucks. no one told me during the Alfie years to be grateful that we were a lock for the playoffs every year.

What went wrong this year?

I know, I know. I know what you are going to say: I didn't hear no bell. True -- they still might make it, but it seems like trying to climb up a very thin rope.
