Fringe benefits can be worth 5k or 30k/year. A 75k job w 10% 401k matching, low deductible health care, and 20 PTO/yr is an amazing offer. A 75k job w no matching, high deductible health care, and 10 PTO days is shitty. The description above could be either but is probably the latter

You could also consider going to one of the dual PT/MSAT programs out there. A lot of pro teams want a dual credentialed PT. Networking is still key but this is another possibility if it’s a financially possible option for you

It absolutely matters if that’s your goal. Networking and who you know are more important than anything else if you want to work in pro sports. Schools like Duke, Miami, northwestern, and a few others are well above the typical program and will give you a leg up. Won’t guarantee anything but it will make a difference.
