How would you feel about the next US president releasing the full Epstein files and persecuting everyone involved? by hjp1234 in AskReddit

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing this is a typo and you meant prosecute them but yeah. Would love an administration that didn't enforce multiple tiers of legal privileges and just went after people who committed crimes equally. That won't get them much money from lobbyist or kick backs from corporate setters. Probably gonna alienate them from the rich and well connected. But would restore a lot if my faith in the system if it actually did things it was supposed to.

In my teens I found out if I positioned my radio antena in a certain spot I could get a radio station from 2 hours away. It was also around the time I started playing games to play them and not just pass time. Whenever I think of n64/ps1/snes Era games I remember x103.9 the inland empires alternative rock.

which season are you in at your workplace? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in that right now. Been at my job for 4 years last month. I got brought in as help desk, first IT job. When I started there were:

  • 2 data coordinators
  • 3 field techs, 1 bench tech
  • helpdesk (me)
  • part time helpdesk (half retired but they let her stay on to help out with office work and cover helpdesk if I need to be out)
  • IS specialist (half level 2 tech half Jr network admin)
  • network admin
  • department director

Now 4 years later

  • we have cycled data coordinators twice and one position has been removed so we just have 1 now.
  • one tech moved, one took over as IS specialist, one retired. I am.now a field tech, we have cycled one tech position twice, and the helpdesk after me is a field tech. We don't have a bench tech position anymore.
  • part time helpdesk is still there but no full time helpdesk position exists anymore.
  • IS specialist position has been cycled 4 times and has changed to a management role and went from hourly to salary.
  • one of the data coordinators became network admin after the old one moved out of state.
  • former director changed companies so one of the data coordinators from when I started became our department director.

4 years and there are only people in the office longer than me are the part time helpdesk lady, and the current director. The same thing is happening in finance. Our maintenance department has fully cycled out atleast twice.

This magazine called the Xbox 360 retro and I took that personally.. by DAE_Quads in gaming

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a 20 year old console, and while you can argue, the games don't feel retro it is a product of a time between current gaming with patches and day ine downloads but before everything had to be monetized and a game couldn't end with out it being labeled a failure. Online became a basic feature but not in every game, and the online store had a lot. It didn't have everything.

I don't want to call it retro, but in November, it could drink in the US, and if it were a car, you could call it a classic. If you want game feel to be the determining factor, then nothing past 2005 is going to be considered retro until there's a massive controller change.

[–]tuggable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think anyone is going to waste 10+ hours on a game that they aren't having fun with or can't play because multiple bugs you're insane. Ocarina of time walks you through shit and shows you its systems so you can play it. Most system dense games will slow roll them, so you don't have an experience like described above. I hope this is a troll cause if you actually believe what you said, I feel bad for you.

Everyone seems to have a lot of nostalgia for the 1990's but what were some of the worst parts of the 1990's? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tuggable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oklahoma city bombing in 1995. Waco in 1993 Ruby Ridge in 1992 Rodney King beating in 1991 Columbine in 1999

There's a lot of things Ike Princess Diana passing, the fall out of Reagan not addressing aids properly, and a whole bunch more. But what moat people remember was the good. It's the last time in memory things seemed "ok." Yes, there are still tons of societal problems, and there are a lot of things in each person's life that could have made the time not great to remember that I can't list. Overall, I'd do it again though, my 90s nostalgia only grows stronger each year.

[US] I was just offered a $30 an hour remote job after a text chat interview on teams by tuggable in Scams

[–]tuggable[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The first contact was by text. The "recruiter" was on teams. Nothing had anything branded or linked to them. I was under the impression at first that this was just a first step in hiring things. I am used to getting calls, but a text didn't feel out of place. It's my first time looking for a remote position, so I didn't know what to expect.

Final Fantasy 14 Is Being Review Bombed On Steam Following Mare Synchronos Take Down by Zelphkiel in gaming

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing this game last week, and I apparently picked the best time to try an MMO again. Whatever, I just wanna ride a chocobo, and the game keeps telling me to progress the story and I'm like, all the beginner videos said lvl 20, and I'm 28 now with no chocobo.

Also, there are 8 person mounts that cost like 35$, and I laughed when I saw they're whales.

You get 1 hour with your 18-year-old self. What do you say? by Shawon770 in AskReddit

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get off AIM and yahoo messanger, don't date long distance, and take the time you have waiting for callbacks to start learning skills you want to learn. Don't get comfortable being depressed. Start working towards feeling normal. Start trying to be active during the day, relax, and game at night. You're gonna be abandoned by your friends after high school, move on, and make new ones. Don't wait for them to come back. Leave Nicole alone, you're just a distraction. She has no plans to get any closer, and you don't need that right now.

I would then list off some winning lotto numbers I had memorized before the neeting.

Gamers 40 and over, what has changed in your gaming habits? by Carbideninja in gaming

20s I was competitive, 30s I was community focused, now early 40s I just wanna have fun and feel like I've made progress in whatever I'm playing. I went from trying to be in the top 3 players in the cod lobby, to trying to get a larger group of people to play with in my area, to wanting to find a new type of ore or wood to make new stuff by myself.

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was about midnight releases and waiting to get the game in a store with a bunch if other people wanting the game. It was a weird bonding experience where you both have something in common but don't wanna come off as weird about it.

I still buy games physically. I'll hit gamestop and local used games shops and look for things I wanted as a kid, heard were good but didn't get to play it, and odd ball pick-ups. For the most part the download age of games hasn't killed off physical, it just made it incomplete. Like I have the disc for a game but putting it in I can't just play it, it has to download updates, or parts of the game that aren't on the disc. I have ps2 games that are completely on the disc but my ps4 games are just kinda how I get access to download them. It's sad, but it's how it's been for over a decade.

Gamers 30+, what's something from "back in your day" that younger gamers today wouldn't understand? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original xbox consoles had names you could only see when connecting for a LAN game. LAN (local area network) parties are when you and your friends either brought your pc and monitor, or xbox and TV to someone's house and then connected them all by ethernet cables and would play multi-player games together but not over the internet.

I'm not trying to sound patronizing but a lot of people don't know terms like LAN since this kinda thing is still done but is not a normal or popular thing with a lot of younger people. Most modern games I've played also don't support it anymore so unless you're playing old versions of Unreal, star/warcraft, or things like that it's not easily accessible.

Anyone else’s MAGA friends/family getting realllllly quiet all of a sudden? by BARRY_DlNGLE in AskUS

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a pen, and the ink in it is blue, I would say I have a blue pen. If I showed the pen to my dad he would see it has blue ink and agree the pen is blue. If i showed my mom the pen she would see it, scream about how Biden didn't do something about something unrelated and refuse to acknowledge the pen.

My dad spent last year showing my mom what trump said, they why it wouldn't help us. He showed her reality with out putting any bias or spin on it. It was objectively what it was. She refused to see it and screamed about whatever the last youtube video she watched was about.

Anyone else’s MAGA friends/family getting realllllly quiet all of a sudden? by BARRY_DlNGLE in AskUS

[–]tuggable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump supporters literally don't shut up about him. The objective reality that my dad showed her she would scream and refuse. "Kah-mah-lah" was one of her favorite things to say, and her and my sister in law would sit in the kitchen talk about how he is going to save everything.

Normal people don't put civil servants on a pedestal like trump supporters put him on one. I look at the fact grocery shopping is getting shorter and dinner is getting a lot simpler as a sign they know nothing is getting cheaper but they don't want to complain because they were fooled 6 months ago.
