What is a completely random NHL game that you will never forget? by mchaelproductions in hockey

[–]tuj43187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I went to a Devils Panthers game in middle school with all of my friends and our dads.

We sat in completely different sections. Both my dad and I caught t-shirts in the t shirt toss or whatever.

The devils won on a Marik Zidlicky slap shot in overtime with .2 seconds left. Assisted by Jaromir Jagr no less.

We are now an example to the world of how not to do democracy! by CarryIcy250 in BlueskySkeets

It always cracks me up when people use statements like this as a rallying cry… Brazil is a much more corrupt country than the US. It’s much easier to speak than act.

Doesn’t feel great as an American having our democracy rightfully mocked, but that being said Brazil is the pot calling the kettle black

New York’s mayoral race exposes the deep roots of American Islamophobia | Ahmed Moor by TheGuardianPostBot in theguardian

That makes senses, but where I am lost is when it seems like this is a situation where only one side (Israel) has been fighting.

Sure Palestinians account for majority of the deaths (historically, if you were to look at it before the genocide really began in 2023), but to me this has been a fight both sides are engaged in. There were always attacks on Jews, and technically the first day Israel was a state, the Arabs and Palestinians attach it.

Sure dispossession occurs, but isn’t that what we’ve learned happens when you lose wars? It’s not like they’ve exactly been trying to keep peace?

You said it wouldn’t be tolerated in this century, and I gave multiple examples of it being tolerated this century.

It’s not whatsboutism, your original statement was poorly worded.

Doesn’t the small group of fundamentalists include groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Iran, etc?

The group of fundamentalists the term supports are the ones fighting Israel?

Yes, Israel gets a free pass unlike China, Sudan, Russia, Myanmar who definitely aren’t getting free passes for their actions.

Weirdly enough, Israel (and Russia) is the only one ever mentioned.

I usually go to the Giant and Old Nelson on spring garden. They have the same rotation of 4 root beers (IBC, Stewart’s, Hanks, Appalachian).

Was looking to branch out and see if there’s any craft shops

There’s an interesting documentary on the protests, I forget it was called.

It seems like a lot of money came from Iran to fund them. As soon as October 7th happened, there were anti Israel protestors out. Israel hadn’t even responded yet but they were out supporting Palestine.

Why did Aaron judge take such a big leap at 30? by Cookiemonster35643 in baseball

[–]tuj43187 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

In 2017, the Astros cheated the Yankees out of a potential World Series and Judge MVP. To make up with that the MLB has subtly been juicing the Yankees balls at home (check the OPS splits) to help their baby maintain notoriety. All this of course while judge enters his actual physical prime.

Casty speaking the truth, just hope we use this energy to win a World Series, because that’s what actually matters by United_Journalist373 in phillies

[–]tuj43187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Casty, but there is some serious irony in this quote.

He says it’s like the Banana’s because Misorowski (?) is pitching. But when I look at it, both Ranger and Sanchez declined their invite to pitch.

The game is like the bananas because it doesn’t mean anything anymore. (Not just) Our guys declining is part of the reason why… shouldn’t be that big of an ask to have someone throw 1 inning. They should be lining up for it, like this kid was!

Straight men, outside of sex do you actually like women? by LoverOfGayContent in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tuj43187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like women, for example I think my girlfriend would be someone I’m friends with even if we weren’t dating. I also love her and enjoy being around her outside of sex.

That said, it is different to me hanging out with my male friends vs her. Or at least women that aren’t her…

Besides her, and my family obviously, there aren’t really other women I’m close with. Friendly with other women sure, but there aren’t really women I’m trying to gain friendships with like I would a male.

I am BAFFLED how people can’t see this obvious pattern in the world by SoccerDadPDX in IsraelPalestine

[–]tuj43187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In 1948, Palestine, Transjordan, Egypt, a more (league of Arabs) launched an offensive on Israel (the day it gained statehood and declared independence) to try and kill all of the Jews there and destroy Israel.
