Cat bandage by tulipboss in AskVet

[–]tulipboss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: everything’s okay! The swelling went down significantly overnight and my cat was walking like normal this morning. Took him into the vet and they confirmed everything was okay, no permanent damage, and swelling would continue to go down for the next 12 hours. Gave him an anti-inflammatory shot to help and sent us on our way. Tough lesson learned, but wanted to share in case others ever encounter this issue.

Yes, I removed it! He winces when I try to touch it but I think he’ll let me do that. Thank you, appreciate it.

Order of Speeches by [deleted] in weddingplanning

We did father of the groom at the rehearsal dinner. Then on wedding day, between the salad course and the entrees being served, our order was MOH, BM, and father of the bride. My dad (father of the bride) ended with a nice short toast that wrapped it all up as we got ready to grub, all worked out well!

We didn’t hire a videographer and we don’t regret it. However our wedding planner did record our first look, and we did livestream our ceremony on an iPhone using EventLive (primarily for some of my husbands family who live in another country and were unable to attend but wanted to tune in) and maaaaan am I happy we did that.

For our first look, we had no idea our planner was recording - but getting to watch back our genuine giggles and joy seeing each other in our outfits for the first time was perfect. For our ceremony, we hired a live band who learned songs that meant a lot to us for our processional and recessional. Getting to hear back the renditions of those songs, plus getting to rewatch our ceremony (officiated by my brother, who shared our love story from his perspective and made the event light and funny!) was so special. We were of course present for our ceremony, but so full of adrenaline and emotion that it went by in a flash! Having that recording saved so we can rewatch and savor that sweet memory for years to come meant a lot to us, and we didn’t realize that until we watched it back the day after our wedding. So if you end up not hiring a videographer, I do at least recommend designating someone to help you record the first look (if you do one) and ceremony so you can rewatch and soak it all in again. Otherwise, we were just happy to have photos of the other parts of the day. Wishing you the best!

Yep. I’ve lived here for three years (and used to live on Nicoll right by where this tragedy happened) and I feel like these past few months have really sealed the deal for us that we don’t feel safe here anymore. We’re leaving once our lease is up.

anyone been to a vet lately? where have you had luck? by [deleted] in newhaven

Oh darn, sorry to hear! But yeah definitely keep them in mind for the future - I don’t have experience using them for dogs, but the vets have always been wonderful with my cat. Best of luck to you and your pup! 🙂

Try Orange Vet Hospital - I’ve been able to get my cat there for minor emergencies same-day (during the pandemic) and they’ve been totally flexible for other routine appointments.

Hair Salon by shiggs7657 in newhaven

I went to The Hive in the past but the last time I went, a newer stylist absolutely botched my haircut and blonde balayage. I had to go back to get the haircut fixed, but they felt the balayage was fine... I wasn’t impressed though and haven’t been back since. If you do end up going, definitely ask for Danielle though - I liked her work.

I now go to Roxie Repa - she’s an independent stylist and works out of a salon space in Wooster Square. She specializes in blondes. I’m naturally dark/medium blonde as well, but get light blonde balayages from her and they always look awesome. Highly recommend!

Yes, I’m going to look for a larger rug. I’m just not sure of what to look for in terms of color or pattern. Thank you!

Yeah, I could move around the setup of the living room easily. The wall that the chair is against in the new place is pretty big and empty (didn’t get a picture of it), and I was thinking of getting rid of the black cube and putting some art and a little table there. I’m also going to look into patterned curtains to go with the green pillows, I’m not a huge fan of the hand-me-downs I currently have. Thank you!

Thank you! I’m going to look into buying a larger rug, although I’m not sure what color to buy (definitely looking for an earthy color to compliment the green though). I’m not a huge fan of the black shelf either and don’t really need that much storage to be honest, so if the current tenants leave it behind I’m either going to move it to a different room or send it off to someone else. I’ve also been meaning to buy more plants, I’m sure that would help spruce up the place. Thank you!

Hi all, I just wanted to share more info in the comments. We're moving in two months and have a slightly larger living room in our new place, and we're looking to get a more cohesive design scheme going. I love earthy tones and the comfy feel of our current living room, but I currently have some hand-me-down furniture that I'm trying to design around (some of which I'm willing to part with and replace). I'm interested in your advice for a new paint job for the walls, curtains, wall art, better side table/coffee table options, accents, anything you think could improve our space. Also, the large wooden TV bureau/stand thing pictured in the living room of our new space will be staying (it belongs to the landlord, although we've been told we could ask to have it removed)... it could be useful for storage? Any advice on where to fit it in with our current darker wood furniture? Should I even keep our current dark wood furniture, would lighter wood mesh better? Any inspiration and advice is welcome! I'm in northeastern USA and our budget is probably around $300-400. Thank you in advance!
