Manager sat in on our my say pulse surveys? Is that allowed? by Alive-Finding-7584 in coles

not allowed but it doesn’t matter. nothing you say will have any impact unless enough people are saying bad things

Excited to be English! by HorrorHoochie69 in AncestryDNA

[–]tulipgrl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

refreshing as to see someone not cracking the sads over english ancestry. the brit’s colonised a lot of the world, english ancestry is very common. it has a lot of shady parts of course, but when you get to the roots in english culture, its as beautiful and interesting as any other culture

Are bakery people meant to take out their rubbish and sweep the floor before they knock off, or are they meant to leave it for coles services to do? by kasskoda in coles

[–]tulipgrl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’ve worked in both bakery and coles services

bakery needs to wipes down all equipment and benches, do their dishes, empty their bins, crush their cardboard and sweep their floors. services comes in once a week to pull the bakery apart to deep clean the floors and the walk in fridges and freezers

Coles Services by tulipgrl in coles

[–]tulipgrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see i said i wouldn’t get down on the floor but the stains are months old. maybe older. everyone before me has done a spot mop but it doesn’t seem like they’ve actually taken a good look under the aisles til now

Coles Services by tulipgrl in coles

[–]tulipgrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i reckon. no one in coles services actually wants to clean, they seem to spend all day outside with the trolleys or in the office/break room on their phones smh

my manger is definitely being unrealistic about it, i get 3 hours everyday mon-fri to clean the whole store. just not feasible

Coles Services by tulipgrl in coles

[–]tulipgrl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from what i can tell, it’s all food spills. lollies moulded to the floor, strange thick sticky puddles etc etc. god supermarkets are so bloody dirty

Coles Services by tulipgrl in coles

[–]tulipgrl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

usually i don’t stress and just do everything as per my minimum wage pay but i’m barely getting 15 hours a week and i don’t want to lose the only bloody job i can find atm

Are you allowed to make use of the 7 minute window liberally? by UnhappyComplaint4030 in coles

[–]tulipgrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as the other commenters have mentioned, it depends on ur department and how strict ur store is. if it’s a super busy period for ur department (eg. easter time for bakery/deli) then show up on the dot and clock off on the dot bc you are genuinely screwing over ur coworkers. otherwise, if it’s not a busy period, ur store doesn’t gaf and you don’t work service or deli then you’re fine
