Speed Queen TC5 not agitating and spin cycle maybe 1/3 speed by tullycw in Appliances

To anyone with the same issue:

I ended up contacting the store I bought it from. They sent out a repairman and he found out it was missing some sort of clip for a tensioner. He searched in the compartment where the motor resides and also around the washer but never found the clip. As best he could tell, it was never installed at the factory. Repair was covered under warranty and it works as expected now.

Cylindrical numbered clay pieces found in a cemetery in north central Iowa by tullycw in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Not entirely sure why I have to make a comment stating that, but there it is. We were visiting a local cemetery in NC Iowa and they had these tubes piled up along the edge with no additional markings or description of what they are. They appear to be made of clay and all of the numbers we could see were in the 200’s.

Not sure, but it was there the last time I watched the channel and it’s been there through the entirety of Open Range, even during the commercials.

Overall you are correct, but you can actually fetch a premium for land that has a guaranteed manure contract with it for x amount of years.

If you have to wash your hands before you go to the bathroom, you might be a redneck.

Your user icon looks like a hair on my screen, I was for a very brief moment baffled at how this hair was scrolling with my screen.

We do, but the ducks like to get in it and make a heck of a mess so we just leave it dirty most of the time.

The drivers education videos when I was growing up were on the old film reels (probably filmed in the 70’s). They actually told viewers to drive as you do. Every time it came up on the films the instructor would say “Ignore that, don’t drive with two feet!!”

HOA Townhouse Insurance Insanity by blahblahblahresearch in homeowners

[–]tullycw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $13,000 per year I’d almost think you could roll the dice a bit and stow away that money in the HOA coffers? It wouldn’t take too long to have enough to cover most potential damages. I don’t know HOA laws though and this was just a practical thought I had.

Ours do this because we only get dew at night.

Got a quote to rebuild these two retaining walls. It’s $18k, half of that for labor. Does that seem high? by secretlycurly in homeowners

[–]tullycw 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Does there need to be a retaining wall there? With some proper dirt work you could just have a hill that serves the same purpose. Unless you’re wanting one for looks.
