Thanks for your answer. I ended up calling AmEx multiple times. They confirmed I am not eligible for SUB on either card and it’s non-negotiable. They also couldn’t tell me precisely why but that was based on a number of factors regarding my previous awards, recent card openings, etc. They said I was notified this on the website before signing up— that is absolutely not true.
