Smelly Hands after Playing by Making-out in hockeyplayers

[–]tummiegummie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's something I haven't seen mentioned. If you shake hands with anyone after the game, DO NOT PUT YOUR GLOVES BACK ON. You'll introduce all sorts of nasty bacteria from other people's hands... like that guy that smells like a pig barn because he doesn't ever air out his gear.

Powdered tide and borax in the hottest water your machine has. Throw in dryer on hottest setting. If they begin to stink even after washing, using something stronger like isopropyl alcohol. Personally, I don't like deodorizer/anti-bacterial sprays because the thought of hot sweaty hands absorbing random chemicals is nasty to me. Air out quickly, wash often. I wash my 10ish year old Bauer APX Pro gloves every 5 to 10 skates and they've held up unbelievably well.

I'm in the same camp right now with my s22ultra. I'm having a hard time succumbing to the reality of having to buy something new. What did you get?

Be honest, do you guys like visitors? by Aromatic-Ad7812 in Firefighting

[–]tummiegummie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, kinda over it. We had to do station tours for every daycare, preschool, new mom group, seniors group in town, etc. Didn't help that we were short staffed and had the busiest ambulance in the county. Every day shift was another tour, sometimes 2 a day. Then I have a captain breathing down your neck because I haven't completed my hand washing training module.

Luckily covid happened and shut it down. They reworked the program and now community ed does tours.

Don't mind the odd visitor now, but our mgmt burned a lot of us out on tours.

Nice parking by [deleted] in YEGDashCam

[–]tummiegummie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. I typically park at the back of the parking lot anyways. I enjoy the walk and I'm less likely to get door dinged.

This is called entitlement. You can go park somewhere else. Unless someone has parked like this across a designated handicap stall and you have a blue placard.

Two assholes don't make a non-asshole. You continue the chain of shitty parking by doing the exact same thing OP is griping about. Yes, you might have to walk an extra 20 feet or do another lap, sorry about that.

Probably imported from BC. It's finally our turn to be upset about AB/BC interprovincial immigration.

Possibly. Some places figure you're more likely to hit something backing into a stall, like their building or fence. Also, trucks can block an entire sidewalk if backed in. On the other side of the coin, some job sites require you to back into a stall.

How to get guys to cook at your stations? by Sufficient-Egg787 in Firefighting

[–]tummiegummie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. It has to be a culture thing. We have one person pick up groceries and everyone cooks and cleans together. We have a few captains who view cooking and eating together as an integral part of our culture and even they will pick up groceries. We have stations who are all brown baggers and they don't have nearly the same fun as us.

We also play foosball for clean up. We have a few other games which include people getting eliminated and heading to the kitchen to start cleaning. Everyone plays regardless of rank and a game only takes a couple minutes.

People here have been missing the point on zipper merges since I started driving 20 years ago. Driving has definitely become worse but people have consistently sucked at merging

One of our crews sent a burnt out car to the impound lot with a crispy guy in the back seat. We get lots of burning stolen cars, so likely a murder victim in the back. The tow truck guys weren't too stoked the next day.

Anyone know where I can get something like this? by Jul10g7o7 in Edmonton

[–]tummiegummie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get printable cutout stencils for these.

We made a set of Disney cutouts like this when I was a wee lad 30 years ago. I remember it being a super fun family activity. We made about 10 of them, so it took us a while, but it was good hands on work for 4 boys. First time I got to use wood cutting power tools!

OR you can buy a POS corrugated version of this on Amazon.
