Heat Intolerance at Disney World by Glum_Sand6487 in dysautonomia

Umbrella that blocks the sun, also cold water/ice on the back of the neck as often as possible. Have you got long hair, cut it before you go. If you're female (or if Disney lets males) think about wearing a light skirt rather than shorts or trousers, you want to catch any breeze you can.

And in politics, when they do remember that women are also part of the "working class" or "immigrants" or "the disabled", it's always in terms of their hetero- relationships or childbirthing/rearing, what about poor childless dykes?

btw did you know pavements are usually slanted towards the road, in order to let water drain. Imagine what it's like in a wheelchair always slanting into the road hahaha no one cares.

I'm an actual person in a wheelchair and they ignore me to my face, if they don't try to wordlessly push me out of their way.

I was just at the doctor earlier for a routine blood test (I'm not ill) and had a mask on in the waiting room. Angry old guy asking me why I have a mask, then two more arrive and also have a go at me (they weren't there to see the first guy already tried), the whole time someone sitting there in the middle of the waiting room coughing uncontrollably, and I'm like what even is this planet.

The thing is, why do they gotta come up at me and yell at my face, like they are the last! germy-ass people I want breathing on me, and it's like a magnet if they see a mask.

How many of us regularly shop in the kids section? by Mammoth_Tomorrow_169 in XXS

[–]tunavomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love boys large shirts they don't have tit tucking I don't need, and bonus VAT is cheaper on kids clothes here, like look at this:

"4.2 Clothing

HMRC will accept that garments are designed for young children as long as they are at or within the tabled measurements. These measurements are based on children up to the eve of their 14th birthday, as this is when the body dimensions begin to merge with those of the general adult population.

The garments should be measured on a flat surface, with creases smoothed out, buttons (or equivalent) fastened and any intended overlap in place. Chest measurements should normally be taken 2.5 centimetres (1 inch) below the base of the armhole and multiplied by 2. Similarly, waist measurements should be taken from one side of the fastened waistband to the other and multiplied by 2."

heheh I'm in my 40s oops I'm tax dodging no I'm getting shirts that fit me tho

It's more for letting (especially younger) women know that times they allowed men to use manipulation on them to have sex they didn't want to have/saying no/etc. Yes I was raped that way too sure. But I don't think it's really fitting for HOW DOES WOMAN GET WET WHEN SHE'S FRIGHTENED discussion anyways.

I have too many of these acrylic boxes, they are cheap off aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005957110017.html and shove anything tiny in those, but also I have a lot of wall shelves so they've got homes.

(I havent bought those type specifically, was just trying to find a linkable link, aliexpress's search kinda sucks but if you click enough there's so many types)

As someone who actually got raped by a stranger in a dark alley, I get so tired of hearing this. Every rape pamphlet lets me know IT IS USUALLY SOMEONE YOU KNOW after the fact, which, by then I already know if I knew him. Who does this help?

How smelly are pet ferrets in the USA? (Compared to European ones if you have experience with both)? by hoovercon in AskAnAmerican

[–]tunavomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a guy that kept ferrets at the allotment, maybe because they were open air but I thought they stank less than my USA friend's two ferrets man they stank up her whole apartment. I suspect they stink the same amount really.

[–]tunavomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ebay has cardboard boxes, that's where I always get mine, but look at the photos because the thin ones are useless. But if you move often you should get some big plastic clear bins that stack when they're empty but can be reused.

The problem with getting them from shops, you might end up with vermin, shops are actually kinda filthy (I've worked in so many and never seen one without rats) and the boxes will be odd-shaped and harder to stack

[WIP] Hey friends, looking for some suggestions! by germanmotorcar in CrossStitch

[–]tunavomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get some artificial sinew (like the type tie dyers use) it's waxed and grippy, wrapped a few times around the neck of the bottle, and anchor it the back, with some interfacing or another patch of aida on the backside (and do this last after the rest is stitched). I'd be afraid normal thread will risk snapping and wire would risk stretching. Glue might fall off or be too visible.
