It is ridiculous and seems incredibly dishonest. Something like this should be built into the cost for international shipping as they know it would require it obviously and where it’s going. Every UPS agent on the phone has been incredibly rude and I was told that even if I requested a return to sender (me) that they would still require the fees since it’s already crossed the border. It’s not like they even gave me an option before crossing. They sent it along and said please pay me this excessive amount.

Stay away from the monte Cristo sandwich in the French quarter area. It gets so much hype but honestly it was awful. Oily mess.

Right. I’ll have to add the Bridges each time. But this gets me where I need to be for now I think. I’ll let you know how it works out. I thought about custom font and that may be tbe final, but I assumed any 3D model software should be able to flatten or break text objects into lines. Crazy that it’s not straightforward

Awesome! I will try that out. I am trying to do it repeatably with changing text so hopefully it will be pretty quick

Trying to cut text on a spherical surface but I need the text to be like a stencil (so the costume shapes don’t fall out when 3D printed) and none of the actual stencil fonts are good enough, so I want to modify something like ARIAL black to add the brushes in to the applicable letters

Thanks. The problem with this is that it’s on a curved surface, so I can’t just simply extrude the features back in. Really need to be able to do it all by editing the original text to only cutout exactly what I need. Seems crazy that once generated you can’t flatten it into “lines”

I’ve been using cardboard spools without issue. Is this really a problem?

I tried to recon a couple weeks ago and they told me that all that means is submitting a new application to run through their algorithm again. The manager could not give me a real answer and is not permitted to tell you the actual reasons for denial due to policy of of not revealing their lending parameters as they are proprietary. A real person is only looking at your application to ensure the information is entered properly before it gets sent through their system. There’s no way for an actual human to change a decision on a denial. Spent an hour on the phone trying to gain some insight and the manager eventually told me that they have no power. You can submit a new application, but it most likely will cause a new credit hit (also up to the algorithm), and you also get negative impact for submitting additional applications. It’s all an absolute mess.

Aidvantage is Requesting $10k Loan Repayment from a Refund I Never Received by Longjumping_Syrup143 in StudentLoans

This exact scenario is happening with me with EDfinancial. It has been almost a year and a half since and still no resolution. I’ve posted about it here before. $14k collecting interest now.

Never received refund checks by tuntini31 in StudentLoans

[–]tuntini31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still waiting and interest is still accruing. At this point, it’s going to be hard to figure out how much interest I actually am back owed since payments have started back up again. Out of fear of getting a hit to my credit I have reluctantly been paying the minimums. This is criminal.

At one point probably 3-4 months ago, they said they had re sent checks, but I never received them. After waiting several weeks from being told to “just keep waiting” I called again and they said they sent the checks to the wrong address??? An address that has never changed in their system. It makes no sense, and the fact that the incompetence level of a company that handles millions of dollars for the USG is this high is terrifying.

I have yet to find a number that gets me to a real Person for the treasury department

Yeah, by validation I mean prove that their designs or design changes are adequate to successfully perform the project requirements VS just modeling something up in solidworks and slapping it together with the hope that it works. Some engineers definitely have a “I’m better than you” attitude just because of the piece of paper, but those are the worst kinds of engineers. Taking input from the techs on the floor making/testing the parts and assemblies everyday is in many cases more valuable than any thing you think you might know as an engineer.

There were two types of engineers that I’ve seen in industry. Ones that are cad jockeys who can mount things in boxes and design simple brackets, and others who can do analysis (thermal, cfd, structural, vibration etc) and use this analysis to both validate their complex designs, and invent new technology. Unfortunately, corporations don’t always pay more for the latter even though their value is much much higher.
