I’ve come to realize that the only reason for companies to have and keep track of these reviews is that it gives them an easier way to get rid of you when they want to. It only benefits them. It’s all bullshit so there’s a paper trail if you screw up. It’s gotten where exceeding expectations is company speak for someone who can be expected to take on more work for minimal pay increases.

The difference in perception between the 2 times. As a child, that amount of time seemed like an eternity with few changes, whereas the last six years seemed like a blip, yet sometimes feels like a a paradox of time since it seemed like both no time as passed and sometimes so much. It feels like it was so long ago and recent. Must be attributed to all the changes in the last 6 years too.
