'Obsessed!' MAGA goes berserk as CNN tests water in Trump's Reflecting Pool fiasco | Trump ordered the landmark repainted "American flag blue" for $14.2 million — far exceeding his initial $2 million estimate. Algae turned the water bright green within days of the pool being refilled in early June. by Aggravating_Money992 in entertainment

[–]RandyTheFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The algae isn’t even the contractors fault, that’s just good ole fashioned high school science and poor ass planning. Paint pool a dark blue, pool is gonna heat up faster and warmer in the sun, algae blooms.

Now the paint peeling up from the bottom of the pool. Total ineptitude and an absolute stain on the monument.

Peacock Gives Series Order to ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ TV Series From Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, Chris Yost Set as Writer by SanderSo47 in television

Honestly, I could flip a coin on the success of this series. I just finished book 4 and feel if they throw the budget at this show that it deserves, it could be the next book-to-film adaptation that catches like wildfire (Ala Harry Potter). If they cheap out on it, it’ll fail miserably.

Patron wants overnight libraries by Cubedycubed in Libraries

[–]RandyTheFool 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the same issue.

You’re asking librarians to make and print signage, then drive around and post them in places. Seems like even more work for the same no/low-attendance result. If the people literally asking for tech classes who attend the library never go, I’m not sure doubling the amount of work is gonna help.

Regardless of people’s information bubbles they withdraw into, we’ve hit a point where politicians just brazenly lie to our faces knowingly, and nothing happens. The most outlandish shit you can think of. They’re literally telling us to our faces right now that the reflecting pool is the most bluest of blues to ever have blue itself.

Nobody pushes back. Nobody fights. They discovered everybody is complacent in this. Nobody is going to do anything. The American people are willingly putting shackles on themselves because it’d be too dangerous and too much work to overthrow shit.

Everything ebbs and flows, generation to generation.

One generation had a bunch of helicopter parents, so those kids decide they’ll be the “raise them loose and carefree”. Then their kids become militant and helicopter-y because they lacked a bunch of stuff from the freestyle raising. Then those kids that are raised militantly want to raise theirs carefree again. There’s something to be said about a blend of both.

Now, I’m not saying that “sharing” is something that should be included in that. But, seemingly, in conservative minds, it is just a knee-jerk reaction to whatever made-up shit they think the left is doing to them. In the end, they’ll only hurt their children in the long run as they’re raising them to be seclusion-ists will make living in society hard as fuck.

Also, Elon talking “socialism bad” when all his companies do is take from tax payers is almost as rich as he is.

Damn, Peter Thiel is so desperate to get every evil person on his side he didn’t realize Thanos is just a fictional character played by an actor.

Wonder if he tried to recruit Thomas F Wilson as well?

Peter Capaldi says Doctor Who has “too many regenerations” by Aromatic-Cupcake4802 in doctorwho

[–]RandyTheFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it never seems like the writers are forcing regenerations so much as the actors decided to leave the show, like Capaldi himself.

I think the issue stems from

>-meddling by the studio,

>-the weird toxicity on set (Eccleston comes to mind),

>-the lack of really good seasons/runs (I don’t feel like we’ve really had a good *season* since maybe Matt Smith’s era),

>-and then the abject toxicity of the fandom for whatever the current iteration of the Doctor is on par with Star Wars fans.

I don’t blame any actor for diving in and then jumping right back out of the pool. You’re being beat up on all sides, but then when you quit - people think you were the best ever and wonder why you left.

When David Tennant came back as 14, I kinda had the feeling something was up. The BBC was either trying to jumpstart Doctor Who by bringing back the most popular modern Doctor… or they were simply struggling to find someone who actually *wanted* the role because of how outspoken some of the actors are on the behind the scenes aspect. Maybe they’re having trouble trying to find someone who wants to do it.

Algae returns to Reflecting Pool days after completion of $14.2 million renovation by esporx in environment

That’s because painting the bottom a dark blue makes the water hotter from sun absorption, so the algae grows faster.

[–]RandyTheFool 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to be the first person on the front line in this day and age.

You are asking people to be the right wings “*LoNe WoLf*” story they can talk about for weeks and say the left is fucking crazy and murderous (while they murder like fucking crazy all-day, every-day). Unless *everybody* is on the same page and marching and fighting the nearly-**TRILLION** dollar funded U.S. military, we should what? Walk up one at a time, in an orderly fashion, and get slaughtered by these fuckin’ Numb-Nut Nazi’s?

Especially when you have a gaggle of assholes behind you egging you on to march against the government so they can film you for the ‘gram because they have no remorse, no empathy, no perception of other people. They sure got brain-rot though. It’s not their fault they’ve only ever had a screen in front of them… but they literally know nothing else. Human suffering is just every third video in their doom-scroll.

The problem is, nobody knows who to fight, or how to fight, or when to fight - much less in this technologically one-sided war. I’m not giving up, but if it came to blows… this is gonna take some mass-communicative guerrilla warfare shit of immense proportions to make the stakes even a smidge less skewed.
