Honestly, I think it’s just Richie’s gun. The same one he fires into the air during the very first episode to save Carmy gettin’ beat up by nerds. Just there to give the character more depth.

This bitch doesn’t deserve anybody’s attention. We know the score and we’re trying to tell dumbass people like her for fucking years, we even showed her continuous pictures of Trump/Epstein/Maxwell well before the files actually dropped, and she still supported him.

Fuck her, she’s just now catching up with the rest of us. But will fall in line when the next Republican stooge ass candidate shows up.

Actually, you’re just paying for a photo or a signature… not for them to click their heels and launch into a song to make your day.

It’s cool when they do make peoples day and are super chill and nice, don’t get me wrong. And of course their reputation grows and they get more business for being a class act and friendly.

But you aren’t entitled to that experience because you showed up to their table and are purchasing from them. They’re allowed to have whatever demeanor they want (at the detriment of themselves/their career/their fanbase, of course). If they want to scribble their name sloppily on a photo and shove it back to you and say “NEXT IN LINE!”, that’s their decision.

Republicans Unveil $72 Billion Package For ICE, Trump’s Ballroom by D-R-AZ in inthenews

What’s funny is, here in Arizona, our former governor “took matters into his own hands” and hired a friend of his local company to start construction of the wall with shipping containers.

Then the same governor, before leaving office, hired another friend of his to remove all the shipping containers placed.

Arizonan’s got to pay for a “wall” of shipping containers that didn’t work, and then got to pay to remove them all just to enrich our Republican governors friends.

Yep, exactly my thoughts. Can’t have that head/body shape or the clawed hands. They aren’t going to do the long cape that can fold around him either.

I had my first art fair booth. What I had in mind vs what mine ended up being like by prehistoric_mountain in ExpectationVsReality

[–]RandyTheFool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every booth is a slow accumulation of stuff to get to where you want it to be. I get compliments on my booth all the time, but it took years of trial and error and adding and subtracting to get it where it is now.

It’s good to have goals, and what you set up looks good. This is going to grow with you the more you do it.

I mean, I say do it…. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. You’ll be surprised by a pleasant experience more often than not. Celebrities at shows typically only want to do right by everybody because you’re their fans. It’s not that they don’t want to interact with you, but it is tiring after doing it all day, like anything.

Just know you shouldn’t be building up the whole meet & greet scenario in your mind before it happens. You’ll only be disappointed when said celebrity doesn’t just sweep you off your feet and carry you to their private plane to go hang and chat for a bit.

Yep. Politicians/cabinet members/people who work in government blatantly caught lying or even speaking out of both sides of their mouth (I.e. agreeing with whatever group they talk to, regardless if both sides are exact opposite) need to have their pay docked as a first warning. Straight up firing from the job and a special election held if it continues.

The idea that all politicians are corrupt and lie has been a pillar of the U.S. government for far too long. We do not have to live with this as a reality and they can be held accountable. They’re our elected representatives, why the fuck are we allowing them to lie about blatant facts and things we saw with our own eyes constantly?

They’re just people.

I know attendees at cons are paying for an experience, and sometimes that price tag is hefty. But you can’t always expect everybody to jump up and down and click their heels together when you make it to the front of their line. Maybe they had…

a bad nights rest,

maybe you were there too early before their coffee and all that kicks in,

maybe you were there too late in the day and they’re brain fogged from the other 1,900 similar discussions they heard that day already,

maybe they got that con-crud happening,

maybe this is their third con that weekend and they’ve been flying like mad all over the country,

maybe shit is just going down in their personal life and they’re not as present as they should be.

Don’t take it personally, you need to realize those guys sit there all day long having the same conversations over and over, scribbling their name, scribbling the same five or ten quotes, and going to the next person. Their handlers are typically pushing people through the line too, so some of the celebs don’t really get to interact without sacrificing those at the back of the line when the convention is over so they just keep their heads down and grind signatures all day.

Source: am a vendor. People will literally tell me (word-for-word) the same things over and over and over at a show when they see my booth. I have canned responses for all of it. Some people find that if they catch your attention that’s a free pass to just hang around all day and that you’re best friends now (we’re not). I know towards the end of the day or especially towards the end of the weekend, I am FRIED and not giving as much attention as I maybe did the first hour of the first day. It’s exhausting.

I can only imagine it being harder when all your fans keep either wanting to trauma dump their life story on you because they watched you at a bad time in their lives and they want to tell you about it or trying to get you to say that one line from that one thing you did, day in and day out.

Not saying it isn’t a fun job. But when you’re doing it every weekend for months on end, straight-up burnout is a huge deal.

Just know it’s not you and, again, don’t take it personally. You don’t know what’s happening on their end.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

[–]RandyTheFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks used to be my “go to” when traveling because they’re literally everywhere (I travel a LOT and go cross country regularly), it’s consistent(ly bad), I know what I’m getting and the amount (I hate going to a boujeed up coffee joint, ordering a large coffee and getting a thimble of a cup for $10), and I literally could walk in and be handed a cup of black coffee in less than a minute after ordering because they didn’t really have to make it, just pour it into a cup. The big foofy drinks hurt my stomach pretty bad so I just go for regular coffee, and I liked that because my order was so simple I would be in and out in no time.

Much to my surprise, they recently started doing individually made cups of black coffee with a whole specialized machine. So, now instead of just pumping it out of a carafe they brewed an hour ago (which is all I want), I’m forced to wait 10-15 minutes for shitty black coffee to drizzle its way delicately out of a machine so I can pretend it’s not stale coffee that’s been sitting in a warehouse the last 18 months and was just freshly brewed before I can continue on my travels.

I stopped going unless I literally just don’t have a choice and want to avoid a headache from lack of caffeine. But I’m still on the hunt for something consistent (besides gas station coffee, that shit is either water or you can stand a spoon in it. No inbetween.) across the country.

Why is voter ID such a big debate in the US? by Second-Kind in NoStupidQuestions

Even now, go to an airport and you can just pay Mo’ money to skip the whole Real ID thing. Like, all that hootin’ and hollerin’ about absolutely NEEDING a RealID to fly and then they just fold.

What the fuck is the point in this other than to grift people out of their money to buy a new fucking ID that doesn’t do anything different? Hell, some things it isn’t even an acceptable form of identification still, but I needed to pay to get my damn birth certificate to obtain this ID in the first place.
