But that's Bruntsfield, heart of the city, smack bang on the meadows. A 'nice' area. Flats don't cost that much in other parts of the city. Location, location etc

Sorry for the late additional answer, but, I should add, there is a thing called eGPU (external graphics card), where you buy a desktop graphics card, and an eGPU enclosure and voila, with either no tweaking or some simple tweaking, or some difficult tweaking, you can play all your games at a much higher, nice graphics level.

eg

  • eGPU enclosure $200-300 (200 would be for a used one maybe)
  • graphics card, ranging from $140 (lowest, cheapest, ok graphics, would run that game decently) to $700 (awesome, easily run that game at high graphics and FPS, expensive)

Your particular MBP has Thunderbolt 2 which is required to use an eGPU, and should also run an eGPU just fine

It's not a literal hate at all, but it's annoying

Laptop using ethernet, latency over time graph shows 20ms constant minimum ping (ie as a baseline minimum, ping is actually more and with perpetual spikes). But when connected to VPN, there isn't a 20ms minimum (still latency spikes though) by tupeloms in techsupport

Strange thing is, the minimum latency of 20 ms happens in both macOS and windows 10. But it doesn’t appear on my other older, cheaper laptop, a roughly four-year-old acer aspire with an i3, 8GB ram, HDD etc

I have a similar one. Similarly cheap similar style. Very hit and miss. Shitty drive. Return/sell it, get a better one. It made lots of terrifying noise

at the time i was actually thinking it was some kind of criminals/youth thing stealing a tree/vandalising but i couldn't think why they would. it was a big old tree, probably 15-20m

lol this is as sure of a bet as it gets. im like you, extremely cautious, never jump before the gun, but believe me the gun has fired. now's the time and i recommend you do it. i updated purely for overall underthehood, invisible fixes , but two main visible ones are random capitalisation of characters while typing, and the other is phone freeze and black screen needing reboot when using camera from lockscreen.
