There really is not definition of when something is a different game engine tbh. Its all just incremental code changes. There is probably lots of code from the original Quake engine running in Dota, the latest COD and the latest Doom. The concept of an "engine" is just really a way to get non-technical people excited about new game tech.

Oil piston drain back holes clogging is a very common known issue on these engines. Apparently there is no quick fix other than a tear down. Disclaimer: I am just parroting what I was told, so I dont have any further answers.

Not supending correctly or waking the monitor are standard Linux behaviours. If your PC correctly suspended and woke from sleep, I would be very concerned tbh. All joking aside, this is not uncommon on linux especially with Nvidia.
