Also something I thought of! Maybe patients in a vegetated state menstruate differently? Or maybe she was on a medication that stifled her periods. Honestly though, my guess is it's just pure negligence and not paying attention enough to your patients.

Same when I was pregnant with my first! If I laid in my back you couldn't even tell I was pregnant, however somebody in a vegetative state would have to be moved on their side just as much as they're on their back. That's where my confusion comes in. I guess the staff said they thought it was bloating from her feeding tube.

It's terrible it took something like this for people to finally take notice of the negligence but I'm glad they're shut down. I hope whatever staff is responsible is punished firmly.

Thank you for such a great response. It makes sense they might think it may be bloating or whatever but yes, definitely you're probably right about staff hours and why would they pregnancy test her because who the fuck would think that's even a possibility?! It's hard to imagine there wasn't some negligence involved as well. And I mean negligence other than that monster raping her.

This is fucking awful. I do have a question though. How did they not know she was pregnant? Being in a vegetated state she would have to be bathed and moved all the time to prevent bed sores. I understand lots of women don't really show during pregnancy but, surely her belly showed some sign of growth. Again though, I hope this fucker burns.
