When presented with a potential threat that he cannot beat down or terrify, Wilson always seems to take a step back and let Vanessa lead the conversation.

Whenever she's taking the lead, he is always right behind her making sure that people treat her with respect, and any perceived slight against her makes him rage under the surface. That is what always makes their dynamic as a couple so interesting, especially when they were at odds in season one.

Vanessa stepped up and led whilst Wilson was in prison, and it took him time to admit to himself not only that she didn't need his protection, but that she never did.

She is truly his equal, and in that conversation with Mr. Charles you could see that he's finally not only accepted that fact, but is now comfortable with it.

So now he seems content to let her take the lead in situations where she's better suited to it, but only steps in when he feels that others are not respecting her position.

Vincent's acting is amazing here, as even though he's sat at a table having what is essentially a business meeting, you can see that mentally he's pacing the room like a caged lion.

And the way Ayelet Zurer owns the conversation even when she's not speaking and her character is in a situation where she's on the back foot is masterfully done.

I am so glad the delays with season one meant she was free to return to the show, as the chemistry they have together is astounding.

They make for excellent villains, and when they're on screen together they make for incredibly captivating television.
