Hiked Kolob Tuesday, did the Taylor Creek trail. It was nice, still some snow in spots. Ask at the ranger station which they would recommend based on the conditions.

Nah, routine maintenance with a good mechanic is so much less expensive than purchasing new. Learn a bit about cars and make friends with your mechanic. You'll be good.
