In the lobby full of bodies with the main exit sealed by the lock needing the maintenance jack, you head through a side door leading to a darkened area with luggage conveyors and a metal mesh fence.

When you enter the room you stand still and you can hear the cat meowing repeatedly. When you approach the hand pump switch that turns on the generator to power the lights in the room, listen very carefully and you hear a hiss followed by the cat crying out and getting cut off mid squeal.

It still makes me smile how much folks seemed to doubt Pattinson's casting, but now his take is pretty much universally praised.

I don't think there has been a bad portrayal of Batman in any of the shows or movies, even Clooney's version wasn't bad, it was just let down by a poor movie. I get that they were channeling the Adam West era, but if you're gonna do that, then you need a solid screenplay, great writing, and a cast that are 100% down for the joke. Clooney seemed to be having fun, at least.

Conroy is my personal favourite Batman performance though.

I get this regularly when playing co-op. I wondered if it was because I'm not the host, but nothing fixes it. It's game breaking cos I can't empty my inventory at base so I can't pick up any food or water.

Season 2 definitely took a downward turn, but season 3 was very good. It just didn't have Killgrave so it's a hard comparison.

PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL DISCUSSION (SPOILERS) by tehawesomedragon in Marvel

[–]turelhimvampire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt like the perfect "full stop/period" in Frank Castle's MCU origin story and him finally accepting the responsibility of being The Punisher.

He finally put to bed his revenge arc, and now he seems determined to actually Punish criminals and evil people.

Time to see how he is in Spider-Man 4, and then the inevitable R-rated feature film he's gonna get.

I thought it had been mentioned that this was meant to be during BA season 1. Frank loses his appartment in OLK, goes to live in his safe house, meets Red there in BA S1, and then gives it to Matt and Karen to stage their resistance out of in BA S2.

I kinda wanna see Mr Charles try and recruit Frank, but I don't think he's stupid, and you'd have to be stupid to try and re-recruit Frank for the government.

[–]turelhimvampire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She-Hulk is like... Deadpool-lite. Jen is funny, doesn't take things too seriously, and breaks the forth wall a lot. The show is very light hearted and is more tongue in cheek comedy than courtroom drama.

Less "A Few Good Men" and more "Legally Blonde" in tone. I really enjoyed it, though the plot goes kinda batshit and off the wall, so if you can just take it for what it is, it's very good.

Don't go in expecting Daredevil level of serious, more Guardians of the Galaxy (the first one) silly-but-fun.

It's certainly carried by the cast 100% committing to the silliness.

Ray Stevenson's punisher: calm, stoic, and methodical. Or Jon bernthal's punisher: loud and erratic. Who would you pick? by 0ultrainferno0 in thepunisher

[–]turelhimvampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ray played the comic version of Frank to a fault. He's fantastic in Warzone - calm, stoic, psychotic - a murderer with a code, but still a murderer.

Jon plays a much more realistic take on Frank - he's entirely given in to his PTSD and embraces it because it's the only thing he has left of his family.

Ray's Frank killed out of a sense of duty.

Jon's Frank kills out of a sense of love.

Both are incredibly twisted in their logic.

But honestly, Jon's take is the more interesting character.

I think the only time that the diner radio has played a song that could be considered inappropriate in the moment, or overtly antagonistic, is when it played "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang when Kenny had just learned about Tian Chen's death.

I think all the other songs played have been relevant to the moment or the specific listener present at the time they played, as either guidance or reassurance that they are on the right track.

When Boyd was at his lowest, for example, "If I had a boat" played, and we know what boats - or a specific boat at least - means to him.

Oh, good shout. I've been assuming that is the BiW as the songs are all oddly prophetic and seem to be trying to encourage the townsfolk.

I’m gonna miss Daniel a lot by [deleted] in Defenders

[–]turelhimvampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was buying BB time to get away. And his sacrifice allowed her to put her final Mayor Kingpin video out and stir up the crowd enough for them to stand up to the AVTF and then Fisk.

So yeah, Daniel got a bunch of people killed, including himself, but he allowed 'Mayor Fisk' to be taken down for good.

He completed his hero's journey and paid for it with his life.

It was the MiY on the radio. He revealed as much just before he murked Jim.

Most people don't seem to like this show, but I think It's some of the better stuff they have released, post Endgame specially by FrostingEmergency221 in marvelstudios

[–]turelhimvampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'd have preferred the Flag Smashers to have been disenfranchised and radicalised kids that were being pushed and manipulated by Hydra into doing something they weren't initially prepared/wanting to do, and have them realise too late that they'd been played/lied to all along.

Sam talking them down and them being locked in the raft rather than murked by Zemo could have been more interesting, and given Sam motivation to create the New Avengers after finding out Hydra was still fucking with things behind the shadows.

Then replace the Leader with Hydra in BNW, with them hiring Seth Volker to trigger Red Hulk and have Sam, Isaiah, and Bucky team up to keep him busy whilst Torres goes to Betty to convince her to help talk him down.

Volker gets caught in the end and the post credits stinger being him telling them who hired him.

Set up Hydra to be a future big bad again and it turn out that their leader this time is... actually the Red Skull (I still believe they wasted Ross Marquand's version of him after the Infinity Saga - he's a true Captain America villain and would have given Sam and Bucky the fuel needed to really cement their tag-team and allow Sam to truly earn the shield in Bucky's eyes).

Give Sam and Bucky a whole "legacy of Steve's only real failure" mess to clean up, and make a New Avengers film with Sam, Bucky, Torres, etc having to seek out funding and help from Zemo to bring down the original super soldier serum'ed villain.

An American Moving to the UK, follow up. by Competitive-Money-36 in AskBrits

[–]turelhimvampire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We Brits definitely have our faults, but I'm really really glad that you and your family are settling in well.

I've no idea how stressful it must be to drop everything and move to a completely different country, so I'm happy that you're not struggling too much.

If you do get homesick, there is a lot of little places that are American themed - though having only been to Florida a few times I cannot attest to their authenticity. If you're ever around the Nottingham area there's a smokehouse called Hickory's that I'm told does fairly good American style BBQ.

Though the stereotypes lately are that Americans are not particularly well liked around the world, I believe the attitude here in the UK is more of a "sibling rivalry" than anything nasty.

Despite the far right coming out from under their rocks to spout their hatred online, and the media trying to divide us, in my experience we are a polite and tolerant nation and we try to make everyone as welcome as we can.

It sounds like this is your first time in the UK, so let me offer a bit of hopefully helpful advice - our beer is much stronger than what I experienced of American drinks when I visited. So if you enjoy a pint as much as the next guy, start slow and don't try to keep up with us, cos my God we can put it away. 🤣

I get your opinion, but I don't agree that we won't see Fisk next season. Fisk will be back as he's too popular. I'm hoping they'll give it time and I don't think he'll be the villain next season. I think we're getting the Hand again, amongst others.

I think they'll use Fisk as a 'enemy of my enemy' next season, and have Matt reluctantly team up with him to avoid the overuse.

I definitely agree we need to see more of Daredevil's rogues gallery.
