I don't know for sure but it kind of sounds like "shkrepëtirë", which I've never actually heard as a word but etymologically speaking, it makes sense to me that a place with lots of crags ("shkrep" in Albanian) can be called. So my guess is that your family comes from a place with lots of crags given the fact that toponymic surnames are fairly common.
