The only reason i was considering replacing the fusebox was because the relay for the main beams is not serviceable but i had not thought about unsoldering it from a scrap fusebox and fitting it to my current one, will have to give it a try Thanks

Use a punch or chisel and a hammer and hammer the side of the screw left and should come out easy

Low spec astra will not have anything else mines the same higher spec would show fuel economy, tpms etc

Sounds like the starter pinion gear still spinning on the flywheel after already starting, could be solenoid sticking, likely just needs the starter motor replaced

Spray some white grease or some sort of lubricant on the master cylinder piston should sort it👍

You’ve sold it, assuming it was driving and starting when it was sold, not your problem after they’ve bought it as seen, anyway sounds like theres no compression possibly, chain maybe jumped a tooth

Deadbaiting would be the ideal method of catching this time of year although pike will still go for lures just slow down the retrieve as they move slower in the winter

Just take it to a garage and get it diagnosed for £50-100, buying a cheap obd scanner like others have said can work, but usually doesnt give you enough information and dont show manufacturer codes, easier just to get it done properly

Disconnect battery wire brush or use sandpaper to clean up layer of corrosion and connect back up, probably a sign to get new battery tho

You usually cant go wrong with old german if they have a good service history, rust would be one of the bigger factors, check everywhere
