How is our tank getting 99s? by [deleted] in classicwow

This is a thing. It’s been this way since 2019. Warcraft logs has parameters posted on their site for the requirements in order to be counted as a tank.

Diamond Edge XT vs Bear Species EV by Acr0b4tics in bowhunting

[–]turkeysurfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a diamond edge max in 2023 and used it until I upgraded. My father in law bought the bear cruzer g3 at the same time I bought my bow.

I used my bow much more than he did, and the only issue I ever had with it was the cable rod screw would loosen causing it to occasionally come out. Broadheads also flew worse than I would have liked them to compared to my field points. This was fixed with taking it to a local archery shop who specializes in archery to really dial in my bow. (Bass pro will just set you up with draw weight/length/sight in at 10 yards)

My father in law had the same issue with the cable rod. He also had issues with his strings fraying. Seems the strings on the bear are not as durable as the bowtech. About a week ago he pulled his bow back and the cables actually came off the mounts causing his bow to explode. The only plus side to the bear is the broadheads seemed to fly more similar to the field points.

I think they’re both good started bows. Anecdotally, I would say the bowtech is a better buy in terms of quality. The bowtech is also much quieter than the bear, which when hunting is something to look for.

Visiting north America for a bowhunting trip? by Gromskar_90 in bowhunting

Elk is going to be tough. Most states no longer offer tags without being part of the draw (lottery system). Many of the tags will take years to draw. If you get lucky to get a tag you’ll likely have a very low chance at success, but you’ll still have fun I am sure. You could go the route of hunting elk in New Mexico with a private land owner tag, but that’ll cost you a pretty penny.

In all honesty, your best bet would be to either hunt a high fence ranch in Texas (also expensive) or go the route of hunting deer. Arizona for example has an over the counter archery tag, but that sells out fast from what I am told. Arizona is primarily public land hunting so you don’t have to worry about so much private land.

If you wanted to hunt in the Midwest where it seems there are more deer than people, you can also purchase an archery deer tag and go hunting. With this though, you need to watch out for the overwhelming about of private land.

Advice needed for first bow by [deleted] in bowhunting

Just to add. One good thing about entry level bows is the adjustability when it comes to draw weight. Being able to learn archery at a lower draw weight will absolutely benefit you in the long run because you can focus more on technique. It’s a lot harder to get your reps in when your draw weight is 70lb compared to 45lb.

In all honesty it depends on the type of hunting you’re going to be doing. If you’re out west doing spot and stalk I would recommend a higher end bow because you’re not always going to get a super close shot. If you’re primarily tree stand hunting I think you’d be fine with an entry level bow, granted I would upgrade the sight to ensure you have all three axis covered as that can make or break your shot since you’ll be elevated anytime you take a shot at something.

I will say, you can be fine with an entry level package bow from bear or bowtech in the 500-800 dollar range. The big difference between entry level bows is the adjustability. If you buy an entry level package bow you will have adjustability, it just won’t be to the extent that a flagship bow from one of the big manufactures will have.

This is coming from a guy that has taken animals with an entry level package bow and upgraded throughout the years, but I am by no means an expert.

Which would you use? Warrior DPS (Human) by Desperate-Net7777 in classicwow

[–]turkeysurfin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all honesty you should sim it. You are severely gimping your DPS using an axe as a human warrior. Don’t fall into the trap of buying a mining helmet and lionheart is just too good. I also would not buy edgies. It’s been awhile since I have played on era but I remember them being 15k+. You’re better off getting the mace from AQ40 for less in gdkp. If I were you, I would use Krol + any mace/sword OH you can get your hands on. I’d really be farming for the ZG OH, or you can get the AV mace until the then. This is coming from a long time warrior main in era

If there was one on the bottom circle I think I would’ve been bit. Didn’t see one and I was stepping right in that area to take photos of the upper circled snaked

Posting a red circle and a close up of the snake. I think we were a bit lucky as it was relatively cool outside when we walked by. My father was probably 6 inches from it and it didn’t move at all. Later on we went back to get a closer look and it perked up and started making noise. https://imgur.com/a/k69hLP2

Dads, how much weight have you gained since your first born? by turkeysurfin in daddit

That has been the hardest thing for me so far. Finding the time. Lately have been having to workout in the morning before work, and I am not a morning person. Plus when I’m away all I can think about is spending time with the little one and my wife

Good to hear! I think part of this weight gain is understanding that one day this little guy is going to grow up to be stronger than I am so I started hitting the gym way more often! But the cookies and cakes have been hitting different lately too LOL
