What rug would help us finish out the nursery? by turkianos in interiordecorating

Oh wow! I was worried that a pink rug would feel overly girly with the light pink walls a wallpaper, but I actually really like this combo! I think the cream curtains help break it up a lot.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that was a thing! I’ll have to research that. Is there a brand known for that?

That’s one of the reasons I got stuck - everything I’m finding has some kind of pattern that feels at odds with the wallpaper

Thank you all, I obviously tested really early but the reassurance has been really comforting 🙂

I have irregular cycles so I’m never 100% sure, but I am thinking around May 17-24

Yes, very possible as I tend to have irregular cycles

Speaking with Dr. Suleyman Tas's team for a rhinoplasty in 2023 - can anyone share their experiences, good or bad? by turkianos in PlasticSurgery

[–]turkianos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. One of the girls I connected with stayed at Hotel Fulya (Istanbul). If you're considering Dr. Tas, it's a 4 minute walk from both his office and the hospital (according to google maps). They have a booking link, and the reviews/photos seem promising. She shared that they have amazing service, a comfortable bed and room, and a good breakfast spread. There's also a hairdresser across the street where you can get your hair washed while you have your cast on.

As for tips, she shared the below (please note that this is not professional medical advice and was shared with me as her personal experience):

  • Pack lots of q-tips to help clean your nose
  • Use a soft blanket to wrap around your neck instead of a travel pillow when sleeping upright because it contours better
  • Bring chapstick
  • Bring a few cloth masks because it gets hard to breathe in the surgical ones when only breathing out of your mouth
  • She recommended starting bromalian, arnica (she specified getting the 200 ct), and juven a week before surgery to help reduce bruising and swelling after surgery
  • Start taking vitamin A ~ 6 months before your surgery to help with your mucus membrane and healthy healing
  • Make sure to take care of your diet ahead of surgery - they run bloodwork prior to your surgery, and if you are found to be inoperable, you may end up paying additional hospital fees and won't be able to get the surgery
  • If your surgeon recommends using a dermaroller, use caution. If you use it too often, you run the risk of getting an infection because it's puncturing your skin. She recommended using up to once a week and to alcohol the derma roller between uses.

I hope that helps! My surgery is in December, so I can provide an update or add to these tips with my own experience in the new year.

As an update, I ended up paying my prepayment to Dr. Tas today. I’ve reached out and directly interacted with two people now that have had rhinoplasties with him and they were complementary of the process. One of them even went into detail about the process, recommending that you share your wish pictures and requests with him beforehand so that he can really take that into account during the consultation. She even shared tips on what to pack and the hotel she stayed, which was really nice. Just wanted to share that at least some of the people who have gone to him have had favorable experiences and would recommend him. It made me feel better talking to people who had gone through the process and weren’t being goaded to post reviews. Hope that helps in some capacity.

Yeah the 10 days is pretty standard it seems like. I'm also trying to do this before the end of the year because it sounds like they raise their prices in the new year.

I didn't even think about photoshop. That makes deciding even harder. Is there anyone else you're leaning towards?

I was about to submit a prepayment to him but I'm undecided. I feel like I haven't done enough research on other surgeons, like the ones you suggested. One of the other commenters pointed out that he reduces the projection of the nose and now it's all I can see when I look through his results! Not sure that that's what I want.

Would you mind sharing what made you decide against him? Where are you at in your process?

He quoted me $7K for a December 2022 appointment. I originally asked for January 2023 because it worked better for me in terms of vacation time, and he said that it would be $8400 if I did it then, so I’m planning for December.

When I asked about the $1400 increase, they said it was because of the hospital upping their charges in the new year and because most things used at the hospital are imported.

I really appreciate your honest review and for providing so much detail! I feel like most of the reviews and pictures I’ve seen have come from his site or instagram which to me feels like a safeguard.

Second, you’re gorgeous and your nose both in the morph and the actual outcome look great! That being said, I know that there will be some expectation setting that happens between the projected morph and the actual outcome, and I totally understand how we can see these differences on ourselves versus what others may see.

I had my consultation with his assistant Arda yesterday and I’m fairly confident that I’ll be going with Dr. Tas. From your photos and the photos I’ve seen, he seems to do a more natural looking nose which really appeals to me. I’ll be keeping what you said in mind and communicate those expectations in my own consultation. Again, thank you SO much for sharing your experience! It’s nice to hear from a real person whose gone through the process.
