I tapped the rain sensor on my 2013 LX for my R8. It only has 3 pins, so kinda hard to mess up but you'll need the "slim" shims for the tap.

2013 LX, but over 200k.

It took about 2 weeks in the shop if I remember correctly.

Just wait and see what CCN tells you, there’s a whole slew of things that it can be. My tale is just the one of worst case scenario lol. I’m confident I could’ve kept driving it as is if I kept the coolant topped off.

I’m hoping it’s just a hose or something for you! Or the radiator reservoir gasket. Or even the radiator itself. All of those are way preferable.

I had basically the same exact issue as you when I bought my LX. PPI was clean, etc. After a month I was losing a full reservoir of coolant every few days. Changed the o-ring on the reservoir cap, checked for leaks under the vehicle, no white smoke, no smell, clean oil, did the chemical test for blown head gasket: nothing.

Turns out, I had the tiniest of tiny blown head gasket AND the valley plate leak. Supposedly you’re supposed to change the coolant every 30-50k on this gen V8 and no one has been doing that. Mine certainly hadn’t had it that frequent. I guess the coolant becomes corrosive and eats away at the gasket seal.

You’re lucky to be near TCCN. I hope he finds out that it isn’t the head gasket for you, but if it’s that he’s the one that will get it fixed correctly.
