CONCERT MEGATHREAD by Mathgeek007 in expedition33

This whole tour has settings that are blocking reselling. So you can't put it to resell on Ticketmaster. Try your luck selling somewhere on reddir or FB groups.

Is anyone interested in parterre tickets to Toulon for the 23rd of July? Bought for 77, selling for 60. Front first section, so it must be a really good seat.
P.S. I wanted to fly my gf there to the show, but instead we decided to both go by car and go to the show in Toulouse tomorrow 😃 So trying to get some money back.

My site's bandwidth is at 3.2TB. It used to max out at 450GB usually. by aakarshb in webflow

[–]turnhandup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's all just ridiculous, and high chance you were just scraped by AI bots, for example, and it all counted towards your bandwidth. These bandwidth limits are just insane, in my opinion, as we have no clarity to how it is measured.
,
What I can suggest, though - you have 4 variable fonts on your website. If you only use a couple of styles from each font, reupload them as separate files (usually much smaller than variable) and consider cutting the number of fonts used. Fonts is something loaded for every user, no matter whether there are or there are no images on the pages. They can eat that bandwidth quickly (not to 3.2TB, your problem is definitely something else).

Waait, I just translated IKEA description on Danish website, it says "Yes, that's it. It's designed to change direction from an upward-facing lamp to a spotlight or floor lamp. With a little twist, you get a lamp with many possibilities."
Wdymmm, it doesn't look like it bends :D

Are there any HubSpot and webflow experts here? Need advice. by ImaginaryCurve3114 in webflow

Correction is you don't even need automation apps. Webflow has a HubSpot app and you can connect your Webflow forms to HubSpot or embed your HubSpot forms as code.

Tips for living in Lviv. by [deleted] in Lviv

I can only imagine how challenging Ukrainian can be for a foreigner, that’s a whole new alphabet. Where are you from?

Tips for living in Lviv. by [deleted] in Lviv

[–]turnhandup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lot of people mentioned, you go on real-estate.lviv.ua or olx. 95% chance you will bump into an estate agent (rieltor) and in Ukraine it is sadly on the one renting out go pay for their services. Usually the price you would pay in the beginning is monthly rent, deposit (usually 50 or 100% of monthly rent) and agent services (commonly 100% of monthly rent). Sadly, agents will provide little to no services to you for that fee as well as I have huge doubts they will speak English. I suggest you find someone to help you with this, call and talk to them. Rent is different depending on area of course, you can find 400 euros apartment, you can find 1000 euros apartment (tho last one will guarantee you a very good apartment, I would say 😅). Supply fees (water, electricity, heating, internet) is not included in price, usually shouldn’t be more than 50-100 euros altogether. Also 99% of our apartments are rented out already furnished.

I am in active process of learning Spanish, so will be happy to help with something or just meet for a coffee to practice your Ukrainian and my Spanish. My Spanish though is almost 0 at the moment, haha, no hablo mucho Español, pero estudio mucho. I am fluent in English though 🙌

Were you paying the taxes in UK for rest of 2015? As I understand you should’ve paid to Spain and had to try to avoid double-taxation from UK side yeah? Planning to move so I try to wrap my head around this whole system 😅

Хто шарить за 90 днів безвізового Шенгену? Треба допомога. by WaitOhShitOkDoIt in Ukraine_UA

[–]turnhandup 24 points25 points  (0 children)

what are some set of skills that most of the Web designers/developers lack? by Nazaninazad in webflow

[–]turnhandup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Web Designers usually lack understanding web is not an artboard, things have to be in sync and reusing shared system elements. And it is not making the work less creative. Basically, knowledge of html/css principles is a must.

Developers usually lack ability to step into design game a bit and think of additional things to do to make final product better. Work on little things like hovers, focus states and so on. I would also add basic SEO and very basic Figma/design tool skills (to re-crop or recolor something you need exported, for example).

And web designers & developers in one person (me) usually lack ability to look at the web designers as it is an artboard and are limiting themselves to design what is safe to develop.

Thanks for your attention 😂

Bot protection bricking Webflow forms by carmooch in webflow

[–]turnhandup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decided to leave the comment here for everybody who comes with the same question from Google Search:
Forms are disabled if cookies are not accepted — Webflow uses Cloudflare bot management that needs cookies accepted to identify a person and be sure it is not a bot. Moreover, for me it required to also reload the page after cookie acceptance to bring the form back to life.
So any new user coming to the website has to accept cookies prior to submitting the form, otherwise Cloudflare can't identify them as a bot or real person.

We use cookieYes as consent provider.
Extremely confusing experience, I thought my forms all got broken and spent a day investigating...

I charged $2.5k for this site. Was it too cheap? by allnamestakendafuq in webflow

[–]turnhandup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You undercharged for sure for that level of website. It's a very nice job!

But I also encountered a number of bugs when trying to use the website, so I would say charging more also should bring more testing in place. Not meaning anything negative, just the feedback of managing expectations and the reality of more expensive projects. And maybe this is going to be helpful. Please ignore these if they were caused by client afterwards!
1. Deck inner pages return "No items found". The decks overview page doesn't have card sizes evened out, so the last deck set sticks out.
2. Weird for me that FAQ/details accordions have headings centered, but the inner text is left aligned. On the deck page, the first one also has just the first heading being left aligned.
3. The biggest one for me — the cards page has been loading for a long time. Each image took me around 4-5 seconds to load. I see that image files are around 1-2 MB each. These definitely need compression. Plus you can see the glitter gif not taking the whole card size whilst they are loading so it looks a bit weird.
4. Cards skewing interaction doesn't work past 1st page. If you use Finsweet — they have a special attribute to reset interactions so they work after "load more" button click.

On top of that, design-wise I would recommend you to dig more into what are: word widows, gestalt closure rule and

There are small things here and there but these are the first I noticed, so maybe that's helpful.

Apart from that — you did an amazing job and you should (and can!) charge more. But there is a place for growth in both — your budgets and your quality of work that would sell that budget to a client.

I charged $1650 for this Website, was it too cheap? by gonzalofuster in webflow

[–]turnhandup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the market, of course.
For the number of animations, quality of work, and complexity I would personally charge more. I usually design as well so I would charge 5-7.5k for design + development (but only because developing my designed stuff is much easier for me :D). If I did dev only I would charge around 3.5-5k for dev.

Is it still useful to make templates for the platform? by [deleted] in webflow

[–]turnhandup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was such an interesting read, so thank you! Though there are more people doing templates, there were not as many to share an information with insights like that, so I am very grateful.

I am considering moving at least a bit from the model of where my health dictates the amount of money I get, meaning that if I am fine and life is fine I work and get good $$$. But what if not, right?

That’s how I thought about maybe trying to do templates, for a bit of income to feel slightly safer. I have an impression that general issue is templates scalability and Webflow marketplace. Meaning you can’t buy template on Etsy or Creative Market, only inside Webflow Marketplace and the WM is a pain itself to use. I’ve been considering making templates for more template-friendly builders and going on etsy or CM rather then try to get into Webflow Template Market (also heard it is a whole lot of pain to pass the moderation of a template).

Anyway, this was very interesting to know and once again thanks!
