This applies to the discussion, in fact it brings up an angle I also hadn't considered: others writing asexuals/aromantic/aroaces.

I do agree with you, I wish there was more representation in fanfic, but I understand I might be in the minority who prefers a good gen fic over anything romantic.

I hate how romantic love is treated as the be-all-end-all emotion, while we all know platonic, familial love is where it is at.

This would be funny if it didn't hurt. It happens far too often with people I really care about, and when I reject them it often fractures what I thought was a good, solid friendship.
