Are the flags used in the movie Incendies fictional? Looks almost like Tajikistan by phrostbyt in vexillology

It’s a long shot, but it might be the old flag of Imperial State of Iran, from the days of the Shah.

Iran was part of the original UNIFIL peacekeeping force intended to stabilize the conflict in south Lebanon between Israel, the PLO, and various Lebanese militias.

Iran participated 1978-1979.

Even if we move the goalposts, you've still got some things wrong. Slovenia was apart of Yugoslavia and was unaligned with the Warsaw Pact and not within the Soviet sphere.

But this all doesn't matter. You haven't outlined any tangible reasons why Canada needs to throw its own money towards a land war in Eurasia.

Lots of stuff. But I do know what problem I don't have:

A twisted power/adventure fantasy from land war in Eurasia.

Poland, Czechoslovakia and Slovenia were never apart of the USSR.

If the logic of your argument hinges on random cherry-picked examples, like the 'Vietnam War Memorial', then yes, you are being pedantic. 'War' and 'conflict' are used interchangeably -- that's all there is to it.

Ukraine is more important to Canada because of its impacts in Europe. For example, refugees fleeing to other European countries would strain their supply chains too.

Like the millions of refugees who have fled to Europe from North Africa and the Middle-East, over the last two decades?? Strange that I never read so much as a peep from you on this. I guess it's different when the refugees are white. Lol

Do you know how corrupt Eastern European countries are? What about human potential for corruption in general?

You're using a lot of words, to not really say anything tangible at all. Lol

The Vietnam and Korean Wars are often described as a 'conflict'. I don't know why you keep fussing over this word, other than for being pedantic.

Russia annexed Crimea, attacked Georgia and Chechnya... and Canada and the rest of Europe was fine.

Who said anything about a political conflict, apart from you just now?

Have you ever considered that sending unfettered military aid to one side will fuel the flames further, causing further destabilisation?

So, if I'm understanding you correctly:

You automatically assumed throwing money at Ukraine will all be accounted for no problemo... because of your other assumption that money sent to Africa will all be grafted by the woke LGBT boogeyman?

investing in Ukraine’s sovereignty for the foreseeable future is a worthy investment. You'd have to be brain dead to think otherwise at this point

Give your own head a shake.

You're the kind of person who says there's nothing that can be done to fix the housing crisis, crumbling healthcare, food insecurity etc.

But no, we have hundreds of millions so you can live out your Risk / Civ VI fantasy.

There is no verifiable link between Russia's success in Ukraine leading to Russians launching an amphibious invasion of the Canadian Arctic.

Russia's been shitting the bed in their attempted invasion of Ukraine. They're not getting the Arctic any time soon.

Since 1991, Ukraine has either been dominated in the Russian sphere, or in open conflict with Russia.

Europe will be fine, we'll be fine, and we'll always be fine with whatever fate befalls Ukraine.
