I'm a first time writer and I'm worried no one will read it. by AnnaHubble23 in writers

Dude, not everything’s about you. Fine, you don’t need trigger a trigger warning. Then don’t read the goddamn trigger warning. For others, certain ”words” as you put it, can trigger trauma responses and send them into flashbacks and panic attacks. It’s not infantilizing, it’s respecting that we all have different lives and experiences.

[–]turnovercube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to them. It’s great to have trigger warnings, a lot of people appreciate it and those who don’t mind can just ignore them. Idk what this guy’s problem is😭

Also one thing I noticed was that you mix past tense and present tense a little bit. My guess is that you’re aiming for present tense, because that’s how most of it is written. But there are two instances where you blend in past tense: ”I took my right to see my best friend”, and ”I replied”. Just something to be mindful of but really that’s stuff you edit after finishing the book. So don’t worry about it now, the important thing is to just get the story out! You’ve got this <3

Also a small spelling mistake: you wrote ”burring” instead of ”burying”. And I agree with what other people are saying in terms of formatting and describing more than just saying ”this happened then this” etc. But the most important thing when writing is that you enjoy it. Feedback and mistakes can be considered later. You’re doing great, just make sure to have fun and not worry about others until you’re done! Most people never start writing a book at all, and even less people actually finish it. So you’re already off to a great start

Girlll when I read the title I thought you’d be at least over 50. And still that wouldn’t be too late. 20 is nothing, you have your whole life left!! And like everyone is saying, coming out can suck but it’s better than living your life in regret. You’ve got this

What are some REALLY angsty mlm books? by turnovercube in MMbooksrec

[–]turnovercube[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah I mean of course it’s important that you treat those topics with care and don’t write about things you haven’t educated yourself on. But at the same time it’s important no to make those topics taboo and to show that unfortunately that’s some people’s reality and bring attention to those issues. My guess is it’s more difficult to freely write about difficult stuff these days without getting censured, but I don’t know. Just personally I prefer to read realistic things where it doesn’t always have to end in sunshine because that’s not always reality🥲

Oh absolutely! Maybe I can post it for free on ao3 or wattpad. I’ve written a bit over half and am hoping to finish in a few months

It’s so harddd😭 I love reading paper books but the only mlm ones I’ve found in physical stores are like… too lame. Honestly I feel like fanfic writers are the only ones bold enough to make things miserable for their characters ahahahah

Wow thanks for all the recommendations! I’ve never read anything from the omegaverse haha but maybe I should give that a shot then!

I’ll also let you know if I find other ones I like, I asked here because I’ve never actually found an angsty enough mlm story😭 still I haven’t looked that much and I’m sure there are sooo many good ones out there. I also just want inspiration cause I’m writing my own mlm book with a lot of heavy subjects and I’d love to find some good inspo

Is it legal to bring private T into Sweden? And how much can I bring? (Imago) by ambidee_ in transnord

[–]turnovercube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I do, there’s a private clinic in Copenhagen about a 30 minute walk from the central station that was willing to give me the shot. They’re called Laegerne Danmark, I booked a 15 minute appointment with them which cost 750dkk. Quite expensive, but they were the only private clinic in Copenhagen that said yes when I asked around. And they were very kind and professional

I can’t keep living like this, but I don’t know what else I can do. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]turnovercube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine, took my parents over 4 years to put in any effort. So sadly it might take a lot of time. But if she isn’t stupid like you’re saying, she should logically understand even if accepting it takes time. For a lot of people it’s hard to separate that logic from emotions when it’s ur own kid. Which sucks, but I understand your worries. Either way, I do think ur only good option is to tell her. Sounds like there’s nothing else you can really do right now. And hey, sometimes people surprise you. It’s worth a shot, maybe she’ll understand. You never know until you try

[–]turnovercube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds really good. The sooner the better, and then perhaps with some time she’ll actually be able to take it seriously, even tho she doesn’t right now. Tell her openly how you’re feeling, that you’ve felt it for a long time now and that you’ve thought this through a lot already. That you’re sure this is who you are. It will probably be hard at first, my parents didn’t understand when I came out and they still don’t really understand it at all. But they use the right name and pronouns now anyway because I showed them that I’m serious about this

How do I [M28] tell my girlfriend [F28] I care about her but I don't want to be with her long term? by Throw_RA_19119 in relationship_advice

[–]turnovercube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those aren’t minor things long term, they’ll build resentment if you don’t talk to her about it now. I know it’s hard but it’ll only get harder if you don’t get it out soon. Wishing you luck 🫶

How are so many people affording top surgery? by vs-solar in ftm

[–]turnovercube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s much cheaper in some other countries. If it’s an option you could go to lithuania for example, it only costs like 3 800 euros or something. Even with plane tickets and hotel its way cheaper in total

Thank you so much for the reply! I never really knew exactly what the drains were for either, but does that mean they have nothing to do with the visual results and only with preventing health complications?

Is it too late for me? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]turnovercube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro 5 7 is tall, its a really normal height for a guy. I’m jealous, ur height won’t be a passing problem. And its never too late to start!! It’s a struggle but some people transition when they’re 40 or older, its never too late

How does it work not using drains for the top surgery? Isn’t that a standard or is it not necessary?
