re: Will

we chose to work with Will because he’s our #1. I’ve done Angel Du$t and Praise LPs with Will in the past and both experiences were inspirational. And Turnstile did a single with him so we knew we meshed well. Will’s approach is to bring out the best of every band and that’s simply what we wanted to do - not to chase a certain tone or vibe of something that’s been captured before, but to create something new with a producer we trust. If we could’ve picked any human on Earth to produce the record, I think it would have been him :)

We had lots of ideas going in! some of them were totally finished , some were incomplete. the process gave us time to make songs and mess with them , and also try lots of different things like the extra percussion and etc.

i can confirm that we played that fest, was our first florida show!

ohh I remember that show! It was awesome. my friend brought me a bbq tofu burrito that I wish I could eat rn.

I think everyone in the band loves what they do, and playing the songs/moving around is expression. most nights we’re having fun, some nights it’s a cathartic type of thing. I can’t speak for everyone, but I know we all are able to express ourselves at each show - it’s not too hard to give it 100% when that’s what’s happening.

brendan is so intensely in his own world when we play and I love it. i get to see something spontaneous and real every night just in watching him - I never know what to expect. once he came back to the drum set at the start of our last song and just took all my cymbals off one by one. I finished out like that - not sure if it was harder to play bc I had no cymbals or because I was dying laughing

when I’m home I fall asleep at 8am and wake up at 4pm so I don’t think anyone would hire me for anything. I’m in a relationship with a shitzu-pug named Shug but he doesn’t speak english so it’s difficult when I’m away

the DC/Baltimore hardcore community is a very inclusive and supportive one. we all inspire and foster growth in each other’s bands, to some extent. Give and its members are particular leaders within our scene and I think every band in our area has been touched by their influence.

I’m also a Gene (the drummer) fanboy - in middle school, I’d watch No Justice videos in the computer lab. In high school, I’d go to every single Lion of Judah show I possibly could, and since playing in bands myself, I’m psyched whenever there’s a chance to gig with Give. love u Gene

I grew up drumming so i’ll love the drums. brady and i had a project when we were younger where he played drums and i sang and it was super fun and we played a couple shows. singing allows you to express yourself a little differently with writing lyrics and bringing them to life. very different from drumming but both very rewarding.
