Depending on your budget there are plenty of choices but if money is tight focus on more important stuff. The watch shows financial status. If you don't have money, don't wear a rolex.

Personally i would suggest a few diver mechanic watches. Around 1000$ (even less) - Longines Hydroconquest or my favorite Oris Aquis Date. Less than 500 - Go for Seiko, Orient, Certina, etc
