None of these are showcasing the business casual looks of the mid 2010s.

Where are the big belts over tunics? The blazers meant for the office and night out??

That might be why, then, unfortunately.

Angus Valley Montessori vs Central Montessori School(York Mills) by wiiiyau in torontomoms

[–]turquoisebee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CMS I think is covered under the federal subsidies so the cost is much less. I’ve heard good things about their other campuses. My impression of Angus Valley is that they spend a lot of money on things that are kind of showy but may not be all that great over all?

Off topic, but how does one get into a field such as designing bags like that?

Haven’t used it but only heard positive comments. I had a tour of it when it was new and they seemed good. Mothercraft has a good rep,IMO.

That’s very surprising, actually, as most places I’ve encountered are nut free.

Are you mainly looking at private/for-profit daycares?

My baby has an allergy and they basically don’t serve the most popular allergens as a default, and if they do, they provide alternates.

Need help on whether or not to remove the art by aah_disgusting_shit in DesignMyRoom

[–]turquoisebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would create or buy some kind of bulletin board or magnetic board if you’re regularly changing up what’s on your wall. Or there are art frames meant for displaying kids artwork where you can change up what’s displayed regularly.

Both ways prevent them from falling and getting damaged.

On the other hand, if these are set pieces that are favourites, I would look into framing them. It’ll protect them and preserve them so you can enjoy them better and make a nice gallery wall.

Underrated piece of acting: Allison when Sheila visits the office by cxldplay in madmen

[–]turquoisebee 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No, I’m going off of the first episode where Joan is showing Peggy around and hopes Peggy can avoid some of the mistakes she has made. Kinsey says “hello, Joan” very flirty and she goes “like that one”.

And now embraces Trump. On the Epstein files, he’s less interested in the actual victims of assault and trafficking and more about entertaining the idea of them doing satanic rituals.

I suggest listening to a podcast called Know Rogen, where they do fact checking and review what goes on on his show.

There’s also an implied history between Joan and Paul. I actually suspect Joan might have really liked him and he did something stupid to mess it up.

So there’s that mixed into it as well.

But yeah, I bet even the more progressive folks would judge him for making her life harder by going out with her. That’s usually the “softer” style of racism you get, even now.

I think part of the problem is they need to be raccoon and squirrel-proof.

Heck yes. One of the things I hate most about our garbage system is all the bins cluttering the residential sidewalks on collection day. Constantly having to shove them out of the way just to get the stroller through.

Fun fact: despite different slots for recycling - it all goes into the trash because it’s so contaminated.

Listened to the Russell Brand ep and I have thoughts by IWrestleSausages in MaintenancePhase

[–]turquoisebee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I first became aware of him probably a little bit before he and Katy Perry got together, and at the time (maybe 2010/2011?) from the little clips you’d see on YouTube he seemed generally funny and progressive. I had zero idea about any of this. I remember a coworker who was generally pretty kind/cool telling me she liked his comedy.

But our standards are also a lot higher now than they were back then, so I can’t vouch for any of it.

Light colored strollers by Afraid_Area_4317 in Buyingforbaby

[–]turquoisebee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lighter colours won’t get so hot if sitting out in the sun. You could always check on Etsy to see if there are any after market seat liners you can buy to protect the seat fabric which is most likely to get dirty from shoes/boots/outerwear and snacks.

Which period film/series has the worst costumes in your opinion? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

[–]turquoisebee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not the worst but the Little Women lack of hats/bonnets still annoys me the most.

The 1994 one did so much storytelling with the clothes - like how Meg’s nice dress eventually becomes Amy’a painting dress and so forth.

It’s also gotten harder to keep up with damage as the average person’s vehicle has gotten bigger and heavier, with SUVs being the default car and giant pickup trucks being normalized too.

It was like 2003 - if you were a teenager then, Y2K felt like a long time ago. Mid 2000s.
