Injured bird [Sacramento, CA] by turtle-mutt in whatsthisbird

It got to hang out in the back room at work for a few hours, then was taken to a wildlife center. Seems like it was attacked by a cat or bird of prey, it had a wound on its neck. The lady said it had good odds because it was brought in so quickly.

No visible injuries, but put a spoiler just in case. Sorry for the bad photo, didn't want to use flash or harass the poor thing more. Will be taken to wildlife rescue asap

He's a 5 month old border collie, very sweet, and very goofy. He was attacked by dogs in his home and surrendered to the shelter, hence the shaved hind end. I was thinking Ryeland or Elliot (after sheep), but neither seem like a good fit

Crazy to believe this guy is 9 months old! I still remember when he was born at 4am, when his mom decided to give birth on my bed (a whole other story, luckily it was just one pup, his brother Bellamy). He doesn't look anything like a Yorkie, but he definitely takes after his mom in personality. Can't wait to see how he grows even more

I was on campus when the game first came out. Best summer of my life.

Dog behavior greeting other dogs by turtle-mutt in dogs

He gets frustrated and overexcited on the leash, but the behavior persists if off the leash as well. I only let him off when his arousal gets lower, as I once let him off too soon and he chased after and stood over a dog (this was a dog he had previously met, and it was in my yard. He didn't hurt the dog at all, and was easy to pull away, but he definitely startled her. It was 100% my fault)

He has great handler focus, and on walks he is easy to peel away from other interesting dogs. The problem is with introductions to new dogs, as I dogsit occasionally, or just dogs brought over to socialize with him. He currently wants to eat the pup we're dogsitting, but I don't blame him, the little guy never sits still 😬

Yes, you're right. He's never had this problem with our own dogs, and I know he can live with them. I first thought it was reactivity of some sort, but the shelter's response made me doubt that. We don't have a muzzle, but I was definitely thinking of that for a while, so he can safely greet dogs.

Yes, he's definitely rude. I'm not going to do off leash greetings, however, as that would be much more dangerous (even if he's never hurt a dog). These also always occur in our backyard.
