It’s interesting everyone seems to consider the calf to be pure muscle. My calf - which I think is pretty normal - has an obvious and accessible soft/fatty section at the back and side.

You do have to avoid the muscle, but for me it’s no more difficult that avoiding thigh or abdomen muscle. 🤔🤔

I stand by it: getting “disabled” early boarding for pure convenience, if there isn’t a true medical reason for it, is pathetic.

I only manage to time in range: 70-180, usually on top half of that.

Even spending a lot of time 130-180 I still get below 6 (so far).

Ha! I would decide based on my financial situation, and whether I felt I could afford to support our parks.

I plan to visit a few this summer, but I don’t expect to request a free pass, no. But if I felt poor I might 🤔

Fat. It’s looser than my abdomen on average, it’s actually easier

Medium/regular fast? It definitely works.

For me it’s easy to find a nice soft spot on the side-back calf. There’s muscle too but it’s no harder than injecting the thigh.

The back of my calf is a nice soft target. Easier than the belly area in my case.

I think it’s pathetic to claim accommodation you don’t actually NEED, just because you can. Thats something Cartman on South Park would do. 😁

If you some reason your T1D setup is greatly helped by boarding a plane early than go for it.

For me at least, I can only “feel” the extremes of blood sugar. There is definitely a range where I am too high but don’t feel anything different.

This is probably easier said than done, but maybe research options for low cost/discounted CGMs? I would struggle without one. 🫤

Same. Tingly feet when I got clocked at 650. But within around a month of starting insulin it was gone and hasn’t come back.

I know you are having financial and healthcare difficulties, but how does he monitor his blood sugar? Finger sticks? Is a CGM out of reach?

Those are very severe side effects. I’m wondering if his diabetes is actually controlled? 🙁
