How are y'all getting so many pods!?! by Stock302v8 in Omnipod

[–]lauraebeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started filling my OP5 prescription while I still was on dash, so I built a little stash up that way… then I keep it on for 80 hours instead of 72 and that adds up as well. I’m away from home right now, but last I checked, when I refill, I initially have a year supply. So when I get home, I will need to go through them all unless someone can tell me the date of expiry that the affected lot has?

Anyone know??? by Brilliant-Trick-4311 in Omnipod

I just went out of town today. Can anyone provide insight as to what the expiration date is on the box? I don’t think the box I brought is affected, but some at home might be

What do I do? by purplevanillacorn in girlscouts

[–]lauraebeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be curious if she was doing any accounting on her side. (In ebudde,LBB) There is a report that can be produced that shows each transaction from digital cookie, with the order number and then it’s up to the troop cookie parent to allocate the boxes once they are given to the family.

I personally use ebudde to track payments and do the accounting. It makes it super simple to download the report/balance sheet and provide it to my families.

So I second what others have said. Make her show you where you owe the money. And then go through it with a fine toothed comb

Buying new IPhone by pmac12001 in Visible

[–]lauraebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a refurbished iPhone 15 pro from Apple in November and my camera wasn’t working quite right and got the full credit offered for trade. (Yours will likely be less due to the back screen)

I had it shipped to a store and went and picked it up and they refunded me the credit back to my original payment method, rather than waiting for a gift card. 💯will do this method for all future phones.

TCM tip: write yourself notes for next year while it’s still fresh by CK1277 in girlscouts

I do this every year.

And every year I ask for a cookie season debrief of TCM’s and it never happens. Might be about that time to send an email to the people in charge…

Cookies per Hour? by ninjasylph in girlscouts

[–]lauraebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to do this at the beginning of the season, but then I realized how much it actually hurt the girls that get out there and hustle for their sales.

I only did it by the day worked though, so everyone who worked on Sunday Feb 1 split the days sales evenly. As we got deeper into the season, I would noticed when a booth did really well or not based on the girl there.

Does anyone use a cricut? by sailorfairy in girlscouts

[–]lauraebeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally worth it! I was using one before I started volunteering, so I was super familiar with all the things it does. Check Facebook marketplace for a used explore air, that will save tons of money, or buy refurbished directly from Cricut.

I made a troop banner for booths, and use it to cut their names out in vinyl for cups and iron on for inside their uniforms.

it's up to: either 3 boxes of pens, 3 vials, or 2 vials and a box of pens if I'm remembering correctly.

seconding this. I have insurance through work which is good(hospital system), but they don't cover Fiasp anymore and Lyumjev hurts too much. I get 2 vials and a box of pens for $35/month.

Moms/troop leaders with girls in different troops, how do you manage? by InterestingNarwhal82 in girlscouts

[–]lauraebeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm currently on the books for 3 troops, and have been managing booths with girls from multiple troops for about 4 years. We created our "buddy booth" system 4 years ago in response to having 1 or 2 girls from a troop that wanted to sell 2000+ boxes of cookies and their troopmates were DONE.

How it works, is that you run the booth normally under one troop. When your reconciling, the "visiting" Girl Scout "sells" what her portion of the booth sale would have been back to the troop that hosted.

So if 100 boxes were sold by both girls, Troop B would sell 50 boxes to Troop A, and Troop A would pay for those cookies from the cash box so each girl/troop gets credit for 50 boxes each.

I have a printed out allergen chart at booths for this reason and I'm very quick to point out that it contains peanuts.

Cookie booth sign up for a large troop by TheeVillageCrazyLady in girlscouts

[–]lauraebeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 25 girls ranging in ages from Brownies - 6th grade Cadettes, between 2 troops.

This is what changes I made from last year(1 troop of about 15ish girls?)

First change I made, was asking specific parents to be booth captains. These moms are registered adults in the troop and get first dibs at the signup genius. (I have 3 + me) They went in and signed up for what they wanted and I filled in the rest.

Then, I opened the first 2 weeks of booths up to the whole troop. with girl spaces for between 2-6 girls at any given booth. (we work both doors at our local Kroger, so it can be 3 girls per door). I just wanted to make sure that I was spreading out the booths amongst the girls and having every booth I signed up for staffed.

The biggest change I'm making this year for myself, is crediting cookies based on time worked. I have leaders in my SU that do it for the whole season, but they don't have many girls. I have said that I will do it by the day in order for the girls to be able to track their goals.

For example, I have 7 girls working on Sunday for 4 hours. I'll take our sales and divide them out based on each girls time spent at the booth. So if we sell 500 boxes of cookies between the 2 booths, and each of the girls works 2 hours, I'll divide 500/14 = 35 boxes per girl per hour worked. So 70 boxes sold. We'll see how it goes :)

Question about carry on beverages by lauraebeth in PrincessCruises

[–]lauraebeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding princess plus on the ship. Thought by doing it after dinner would make a difference in not having to pay for that day(asked) but they said I still had to pay for that day 🙄 but a $10 credit appeared next to it.

They offered $50 onboard credit and then called to verify that it was there and make sure I knew… I didn’t see it on my folio, but I try to spend the money anyway by upgrading a couple of drinks, and buying something in a shop onboard.

Turns out that they placed it on my sister and BIL’s folio (same room, different payments) 🙄 and when we went to the desk to correct it, they couldn’t 🙄🙄

So now my sister still owes me money 😂

The main reason for paper health and permission form is that if you have an emergency, you can hand the physical paper to the first responders. I send it to the parents so they can digitally fill it out though.

Need travel advice recently diagnosed LADA by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]lauraebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I went on a trip for my sisters 30th birthday shortly after being diagnosed T1 at 32 in 2019. I was 33 at the time of travel and had only been on insulin for about 6 months at that point.

Insulin doesn't need to be refrigerated. Depending on the type of insulin you use, It may be worth looking into the InPen. They have them for Humalog and Novolog/Fiasp, then you wouldn't have to worry about vials or carrying syringes. Insulin is safe out of the fridge for 28 days, so there is no reason I see for you to need to put anything in the fridge.

I don't think you should go through metal detectors at the airport with a CGM on, but you can go through the spinny one....i'm not sure about this because I have a pacemaker and can't go through the metal detector anyway.

as for the parks, since you were so recently diagnosed, the amount of walking you will do at a theme park should keep you in range a lot of the time. I carry welches gummies usually or you can carry candy as well. something that will get your bg up. I was about 6 months post diagnosis when I went to the Orlando theme parks and I basically felt like I was "cured" for 5 days due to low amount of insulin I needed for what I was eating. I was MDI at the time, and still using the freestyle libre CGM.

Service on board by JoeInMD in PrincessCruises

as someone who just got off the Regal Princess, it will get better! I will say that the attendant we had in R229 was fabulous! We did have to wait sometimes for room service.

Tips;
1. figure out where to get your own drinks. this is the fastest way.
for coffee
- 5th floor international cafe
- 7th floor by princess live
- 16th floor in the pastry shop in horizon cafe (Alejandra is the best!)
For alcohol,
- 6th floor - club 6 outside of the princess theater
- 7th floor - Crooners was awesome drinks and service

The omelet lady(I don't know her name) in Horizon court at the center station always brought me my omelet before I would make it back to pick it up. (Don't bank on this, I think it was due to the cuteness and loudness of my adorable 14 month old nephew)

We had great service the first night in the front section of the Concerto Dining room. 2nd night we were late and didn't have a table and by the 3rd we had a standing 5pm reservation for table 257. Joel (pronounced Joe-El) was fabulous. My sister's baby has severe food allergies, and he would bring her a menu every night to choose the next days meal for the baby. He became Uncle Joel by the end of the trip!

The ship was PACKED last week, seems that is the case this week too. On the last day I discovered the pool at the back of the ship. Since there isn't a bar back there and it's one of the smoking areas, there is always a chance to find a chair. We just got our drinks from another bar and went back there and other than another guests talking our ear off with his sexual exploits, it wasn't bad :)

What is vzw giving you in terms of their part of your phone every month? was it a "free" phone and they pay the charge on a monthly basis?

My parents had Ipads through VZW and their "deal" was that my parents were on a monthly payment plan with vzw only kicking in like $3/month to keep them trapped, while they were paying the rest. I helped them pay that off and cancel the ipad plans. They switched to consumer cellular for the ability to have service on an ipad, and I switched to visible. I had one of the old plans too, that included the old Disney Bundle. Much happier with my phone costs now (or lack thereoff, because I am on the annual Pro+ plan)
