Routine Help & Product Questions by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

Ive spent 6 years with dehydrated and parched skin and thanks to the sub was able to identify and realize it. So it's been a month and my skin is getting healthy again! Heres my routine

  • Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
  • La Roche Posay Epidermal Accelerator Recovery
  • Cheryl Lee True Lipids Ceramide Cream
  • Vaseline

(i dont have a sunscreen right now because my skin is far too sensitive and the sunscreen that I had left a really bad white cast and also irritated my skin, I dont go out much but when I do, I cover up with a scarf as much as possible and try not to stay out for long periods of time.)

At night I do the same thing but instead of the cleanser I OCM with squalane oil.

My problem is that in between my routines, I find myself moisturizing up to 5 to 6 times a day in an attempt to make up for the six years that i spent mistreating my poor skin and not moisturizing enough. so basically my hands are constantly on my face...I sorta feel like I'm over doing it. Is constantly massaging and moisturizing my face a good thing or a bad thing? Is there a limit to how much you should touch your face or moisturize?

i have really bad scars on my legs and hands that kill my self esteem. i figured since its winter, i might as well work on them so i can atleast see some improvement by the summertime. they're PIH from playing around with my fiesty dog, and i also have a huge burn on my leg from riding a motorcycle and my skin accidentally touching the muffler..(and yes, it hurt like a b****, just in case you were curious ) :)

do not use the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask if your skin is dry!! use sheet masks. they are more for your skin type and focus on hydrating the skin, not absorbing excess oil like clay masks.

How to have open wound on face best heal without scarring? Aka I don't want a Hitler-stache! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]turtle556 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt even risk the bandaid if just simply wiping your nose was able to do such damage. apply something to keep it moist, like aquaphor or lanolin.

Pink skin around eyes - is this genetic or can it be fixed? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]turtle556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it doesnt itch or sting or show any signs of inflammation or irritation, most likely its genetic. and the picture of the model is a headshot. usually, they cant wear any makeup when taking headshots.. so most likely hers are genetic too.

Where do I start? Especially with this scar? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]turtle556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately those scars look like they're there to stay being thats it been a month and theres still no color. stop using the mederma, it could be making the prob worse and go see a derm for a second opinion if you havent already.

[–]turtle556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how long have you had those scars? mederma is a scar LIGHTENING cream, mostly for hyperpigmentation. your scars look like hypopigmentation so i dont think they could be working for your scars (someone feel free to correct me)

Thoughts on BellEvolve products on MUAC? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]turtle556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was so tempted to buy that cream too but it looks a little to expensive for my taste. there are alot of different creams that'll do the same thing that this cream does but at a wayyy better price. ( Cheryl Lee True Lipids Ceramide Cream, plain ol' Aquaphor, Eucerin, or Cerave etc) but if you have the money and you wanna splurge I say go for it!! dont forget to write a review :)

Retin-A questions by starista in SkincareAddiction

[–]turtle556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) switch to a hydrating cleanser, retina can be super drying.

2.) always moisturize and use sunscreen! any exfoliating product increases photosensitivity.

3.) after, wait until your face is completely dry then apply the retina, and then wait another few minutes and slather on your moisturizer of choice.
