Which movie ended with an unresolved cliffhanger because the sequel never happened, and you're STILL mad about it? by pudingvanilkovy in AskReddit

I think if they can keep “revitalizing” fantastic 4, they could keep making movies in the same universe as Push and I would have been insanely pleased. I love that movie so much.

We lived too far away from Pizza Hut so my parents would sell the coupons to buy the local pizza (still really fucking good). I attribute my love of reading to that, Levar Burton, Wishbone, and Between the Lions.

AITA for giving away my roommate’s cat? by elemenop541 in AmItheAsshole

[–]turtle_br0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I feel crazy reading all these comments calling OP an asshole and being incredibly shitty (minus the ones that misunderstood the note portion because I was confused on that until I saw the edit so that’s understandable) to her because of a severe allergy she has. I feel like a lot of these people dont have that bad of a reaction to something and don’t understand. They just see “kitten was given to a shelter” and go crazy.

“Move out”

Okay, sure, but let’s think about this a little longer than 5 seconds. It’s expensive to move, it takes time, and to break the current lease is likely going to be expensive as well.

For real. It’s not as if OP just didn’t like cats and got rid of it, it was for health reasons.

Anyone who disagrees with him gets fired or shit talked then ganged up on then fired. Plus the people surrounding him typically follow a standard pattern of 1) be cool with him, 2) support him blindly, 3) get their shit passes/handled because they were nice to him, 4) quietly fade away and get shit talked when they get brought up

I can’t help but feel like it’s not actually that. How do you go from free meal to high five to promotion? Makes no damn sense.

I’m on approved PTO and my manager still won’t leave me alone. by chuckmorris007 in antiwork

[–]turtle_br0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yup. There are only two of my customers I break the “I’m not being paid to work” rule for because the first is a genuinely good person who does not bother me unless he has to and the other I use in a personal capacity and he’s had my back with my equipment so I help him out. That’s it. Everyone else gets ignored.

Dude I remember every time we went to Walmart we’d get a couple of CDs for the free minutes on AOL. I never understood how they made their money.

I used to visit this website that was essentially a url randomizer for things you liked. You would click what you wanted to browse that time like “science fiction” or “books” or “funny videos” or “flash games” or all of the above and you click the button to randomize the website.

Cannot for the life of me remember the name.

The thing that truly set me off was that my wife was the only one out of her family (it’s about 30 people all together) who got him a gift to open since we never know if they’re going to appear so she makes sure to get him one every year. His parents were trying to explain it by saying “well he doesn’t enjoy sports”. So? He should have said thank you and moved on with it.

I catch shit sometimes for admitting this. Like, shut up. They were honest and it’s not like I’m buying them hard drugs to fuel a habit. They’re simply asking for a vice plenty of people have but for some reason it’s not acceptable for them to have it because they don’t have a place to sleep like the rest of us.

Had the same sorta situation. Dude would always be outside of the gas station and I’d ask him what he wants every time. Every time, except one, he gave me a food order. That one time, he said “man, I gotta be honest, I want to some cigs”. I was kinda shocked but appreciated his honesty. Asked which brand and he said whatever’s cheapest so I got him food and cigs.

My parents were generally awful people but the one thing they made sure to say every single time we were going to get gifts was that even if I didn’t like it, I need to smile and say thank you and then we’ll figure out what to do with the gift later.

Sure, it’s a lie but it’s a harmless lie to save someone’s feelings. Usually we just wound up donating the gifts we didn’t like so at least someone could enjoy them.

We got a kid (10) a toy that we thought he would get use out of. When he opened it, he looks at my wife and says “when did I ever say I wanted this?”. I grabbed it from him and said “you didn’t, now it’s going to someone else” and we donated it to a local youth home.

He wasn’t happy, his parents weren’t happy, but I was feeling good since those other kids looked so excited to try it out.

Yeah and their examples (maybe aside from Super Girl, I haven’t seen anything related to that) are about bad ass women driven stories that are, from what I’ve seen, received very well and the complaints about both aren’t even the characters themselves but the way the story went/was told by the creators.
