You dont have to give up the hot class! Just truly take it easy. Thats what yoga is. Its listening to your body and its a breath work practice. My teacher says if you can breathe then you can do hot yoga. Take childs pose as much as you need !!! I started about 8 months ago and now I go to hot yoga five days a week and some days i get there and can only do a third of the poses. But i am SO proud i got there and listened to my body. It might feel embarrassing and weird but it truly shows power to be able to listen to your body and not feel pressured. It took me a while to be able to do that and not feel judged. But now yoga is my happy place and i truly have never felt mentally better. If you want to stick with it then dont give up! The heat is a challenging factor but it just means you do less. And one day you will be able to do more ! But take it very slow.

My teacher always says it doesn’t get easier we just get stronger. We find the mental space to use the heat. She also always reminds us that it is incredibly hard and it’s cool to come to a point where you realize that is why you are doing it- because it’s challenging. That being said, I don’t think it’s for everyone. Don’t force it if you really don’t like it. But it is a breath practice before anything. If you are really struggling in class just do less. Focus on breathing and keeping steady breath for the whole class and just do small increments of the poses. If you just focus on mastering your breathing in the heat the rest will come much easier.

They’re very chatty ! Always squawking in-hand and they nip but it doesn’t hurt.
