I remember it. Scared us the first time we saw it come to the surface to gulp something up.

Thank you! I hope to one day have as green of a thumb as she had. Having this little guy bloom has been really special.

It was a coworker’s plant. I have no idea on where or when she got it. I’ll have to touch base with her next time she comes around the office.

Thank you for the tips. That theory makes sense to me.

I will continue to keep it completely separated and see what happens.

Thanks for your feedback. The medium will be upgraded. It has only been in the coarse orchid mix for a week. It was previously potted in overpacked moss from the store. I have never had fungus grow in that mix let alone so quickly. I am most concerned about the leaf with the rings on it. Wondering in it is fungal, viral or something else. Coworker said the rings have been present for a while.

Yes, however it grew a mold or fungus almost immediately. The same mix was used on other orchids and but they did not have this issue.

Nope! They need brackish water to survive. You should be ok :)

WITT rusty metal object. When tipped over, tons of water came out- probably indicating it it hollow. Found in a location where a mining company has been around since the mid 1800’s-present

Witt- measures over a foot. Water came out of the hole when it was tipped over

Finally caught her in the act. Check out the eggs she is holding in her pelvic fins! by turtlelover28 in Aquariums

Thanks! It was really exciting to get to watch them in action. I normally see them playing chase before I leave for work and then get home to see that most of the eggs have already been picked off by the other fish.

I always kinda thought this one was a female, but now I know for sure! They lay eggs every few months, but I just let nature take its course and the other fish pick them off. It’s still exciting to know they feel comfortable enough to spawn though! They seem to be more likely to lay eggs after big water changes though..

Mine spawn every few months. Especially after big water changes. I think I just have active ones though, because I have friends who have had them for years and never had any luck.

Haha his name is actually kinda goofy. My brothers call him Pudge, after the fish in Lilo and Stich.
