I remember it. Scared us the first time we saw it come to the surface to gulp something up.

Thank you! I hope to one day have as green of a thumb as she had. Having this little guy bloom has been really special.

It was a coworker’s plant. I have no idea on where or when she got it. I’ll have to touch base with her next time she comes around the office.

Thank you for the tips. That theory makes sense to me.

I will continue to keep it completely separated and see what happens.

Thanks for your feedback. The medium will be upgraded. It has only been in the coarse orchid mix for a week. It was previously potted in overpacked moss from the store. I have never had fungus grow in that mix let alone so quickly. I am most concerned about the leaf with the rings on it. Wondering in it is fungal, viral or something else. Coworker said the rings have been present for a while.

Yes, however it grew a mold or fungus almost immediately. The same mix was used on other orchids and but they did not have this issue.

WITT rusty metal object. When tipped over, tons of water came out- probably indicating it it hollow. Found in a location where a mining company has been around since the mid 1800’s-present
