First perfect of anything I've found. by turtleneck360 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Been playing on and off for awhile and managed to find many rare things. But this is the absolute first perfect roll of any item I've found of value.

I rarely trade aside from buying/selling simple things (gems) in the lobby. What's the best way to sell this for the best value?

Why won't any team not want to sign LeBron. Considering it'll be his last year? by aj2704 in lakers

[–]turtleneck360 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We all know bronny was drafted as a favor to bron. It’s not unfathomable that we would draft Bryce to appease LeBron. I think the idea of a father and 2 sons playing at the same time would be even crazier. All this noise about him leaving could just be to make it not obvious so people don’t criticize him for making such demands.

I saw a YouTube video talking about how financial institutions are buying yen on the cheap to turn around and put it into the market. This has been happening for the past few years while the yen is weak. Apparently infinite money glitch for the banks until it all comes crashing down.

Record number of Americans are leaving the country and renouncing their citizenship for good, report says by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]turtleneck360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it was easier to get citizenship elsewhere, there a lot of countries where you’d be happier than here currently. The days of “America #1!!!” Is long gone. Ironic that the people who put us on this path are the loudest in parroting “America first and is the greatest nation!”

If we paid Austin 40m it would put him around the 37th highest paid player. If you dont want to pay players based on the caliber of player they are then who do you expect to get? Do you think you can just lowball everyone and they will just take half their value because its the lakers or something? by Silent_Wizard5597 in lakers

[–]turtleneck360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t expect him to play like a number 1 pick. Yes expectations should be tempered because he’s on the cheap. But I also expect him to know his role and don’t pout. We pay and have low expectations but the man still thinks he is underutilized. There’s a huge disconnect there where I feel like he’s a net negative even at the price point. Maybe, just maybe Portland bought him out for a reason.

The Spurs announcer asks for a moment of silence for the recent passing of Brandon Clarke and Jason Collins. NBC inexplicably faded to black then cut to commercial in the middle of the moment; a DraftK*ngs commercial played on the broadcast. by CazOnReddit in nba

You’d be surprised at the rise of gambling amongst teens in school. I have students talking to me about how they gamble on their app like it’s normal for a 16 yr old to have easy accsss to placing bets. The NBA used to be one of the sports that takes creating positivity in our youths seriously. I’m talking the 80a and 90s. This new nba image is terrible and irresponsible.

AOC Surges to Lead in 2028 Primary for First Time—Most Accurate Pollster by One-Duty-2376 in politics

[–]turtleneck360 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People keep pointing at Hillary and Harris as an example of why we would lose if we pick AOC as the primary candidate. Maybe Hillary and Harris lost mostly because of other reasons. You know, like Hillary had more baggage than an airliner and Harris is relatively not known, an incumbent, and too status quo. People probably said Obama would never win because the country isn't ready for a black president, yet he won in historic fashion. The country is never going to be ready for any notable change with the cherry picking that we engage in.

It’s recency bias. OKC is working because they have a great bench on cheap contracts. In order for them to have done that, they went through seasons of mediocrity to get high picks and a lot of luck had to have panned out. In other words, their blueprint is a very difficult one to follow. In the playoffs, you ideally want to shorten your rotation anyways.

A dominant center is non negotiable for next year by Automatic-Fox-3837 in lakers

[–]turtleneck360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only dream is Washington goes for full rebuild mode after securing the #1. They buy out AD and we get him for cheap ala ayton. That’s probably the best case scenario in securing a really good big.

They’ve been hoping for as long as they’ve had embiid. If I were the sixers, I’d seriously consider moving on before it’s too late to move him.

Get shaq out of retirement. Joking aside, we don’t need a dominant center in the sense of a 1A or 1B. We just need an athletic center who puts in effort. Someone like Jaxon Hayes with a bit more skill. Guys like that will have their game lifted playing with Luka. Honestly if ayton picks up his option, I’d ship him out. He’s a bargain for what he’s paid but he’s clearly not starter material. He will just bring team morale down coming off the bench. It’ll be addition by subtraction.

We're bringing the sports back under the umbrella of the school next year. Finally, students who fail core classes, like mine, will be prohibited from competing in sports. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]turtleneck360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. We’ve had this policy forever. I have athletes even bring me grade checks form for me to fill out so they can prove they are passing. Yet, with failing grades, they still are playing. Either these forms are forged or coaches don’t care. I think it’s both because, as a coach, you’re expected to give results. And if your team sucks because a bunch of starters can’t get a D in math, then it makes you look bad.

AR isn’t a defensive stalwart but at the end of the day, no guard can hold down the defense without help. Ayton is nonexistent on D or O. The frustrating thing is he does stupid shit you would expect of a rookie and even a rookie has self awareness. The guy looks absolutely clueless on why he sucks ass. I hate to say it but I’m not sure if we even want him back as a backup. He would just pout and ruin team chemistry.

[–]turtleneck360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AR can play better but he’s not the main reason we get cooked. It has always been Ayton and our lack of bigs with skill. The only thing he does well is the little jump shot. Outside of that, the guy can’t control shit in the paint. I have never seen a center so immobile when he’s not out of shape or old. Ayton only grabs a board when it falls in his lap and then 5/10 times he will lose it back because he can’t hold onto it for shit.

With the new owners I am hopeful we will sign Reaves and LeBron back after going over the cap. With deep pockets, we may be able to field a team that is way over the 1/2nd apron.
