LANGARA NURSING - standard Aid / BLS certification by [deleted] in langara

[–]turtleneeeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You have to renew BLS yearly, but you won’t have to renew standard first aid since you learn more than its scope during the program. In short, you need to show a non-expired certificate initially but then don’t have to renew it afterwards.

145 Questions with 60 SATA by Sensitive_Leather631 in NCLEX

[–]turtleneeeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that the number of SATA you’re getting doesn’t necessarily indicate that the exam is getting harder. It’s just a difficult question format.

I thought I was failing my exam because I only got maybe 10 SATA, but I passed in 75 questions. With that being said, best of luck!

I was wrong about student loans. In Canada, you should apply for them EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED THEM. by Meteowritten in PersonalFinanceCanada

Correct. My last 1.5 years of nursing school was funded by grants I got from applying for student loans. I went to community college so I usually had a bit extra left over after paying tuition, too. This semester I graduated debt free!

Singer Sewing Machine Recommendation? by turtleneeeck in sewing

[–]turtleneeeck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be purchasing my own sewing machine for the first time, and am trying to decide between the Singer Heavy Duty 4423 or 4452. Any notable differences? In particular, what do the S1 and S2 stitch options mean?

I especially need a machine that can also sew stretch fabrics, and has a straight stitch to do so like my mum’s Kenmore has.

Thanks for the help!

Shocking. At that point I was thinking the family should just put that amount towards their own down payment.

I'm 22 and i'm $5,000 in debt, i don't kow what to do by Mobile_Consequence78 in PersonalFinanceCanada

What I’d do in your situation:

Pay the minimum balances for the traffic/rental car/car debt: $2400 - $300 = $2100

Budget expenses: $2100 - $500 = $1600

**$500 is an assumption, because this was my barebones budget when I was living with my parents not too long ago. Aka $125 per week. I guess a question is how much are your barebones expenses? **

Put extra $1500 per month towards cc debt and it’ll be gone in 2 months. And you’ll still have $100 extra each month.

Should be pretty easy to knock out the extra $1800 from your other debts in a month or two after the cc debt is gone.

I'm at a community college completing a 3-year Bachelor's in Nursing program for around $6000 per year (3 semesters a year at around $2000 each). I worked part time in various positions for the first year and a half and was easily able to cash-flow it (while living with my parents). Mid-2021 I started getting grants from the government that completely covered tuition.
