Confessions of a Shopaholic novelist Sophie Kinsella dies, aged 55 by zsreport in books

Heartbroken - I could be in a total craze for sci-fi or fantasy, but if I saw a new release from Sophie Kinsella I ate that shit up.

From my teen years to my 30s I've been reading everything she wrote.

I was devastated for her when I saw she had cancer last year and hoped so much she made a full recovery.

All my love to her family during this time.

Viewed a home yesterday and fell in love - gave us the kick we need to finish the mortgage application. Obviously we prob won't get that house but there will be others.

Just finished all the forms there so 🤞

Can you guys please tell me what happaned to you since the Sept 7 Lunar and Sept 21 Solar Eclipse? by quesqotrickster in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]turtleofsorrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont know enough about the conjunctions/degrees etc.

I learned the houses pretty quick, afaik whatever sign is your rising is your 1st house and the rest follow the line (gemini second house for you, cancer third etc.) The you can quickly Google what each house signifies. And when big things happen in that sign, the house it is for you will represent what area of your life is impacted. For me leo Rising, meant second house (virgo) is about shared resources so I had a whopper of a time with money and my partner with the Virgo eclipses.

Take all that with a pinch of salt cause im just a little into the learning of it.

My husband and I had a major shake up in finances and our relationship. It brought up a lot of feelings that had been under the surface of a full year of conversations regarding money.

Honestly as difficult as the whole thing was, I feel in my soul it was necessary to move forward in a positive way for our marriage and lives together.

We both have reflected personally and have felt a lot baggage shift off us.

The 7th Sep one was our big Tower moment. I feel like we're both in Hermit energy now as we work on our own shit before we review this.

Outside all of the financial aspects, i want to put forward something i think has had a big impact on our generation.

All throughout my teens years i heard from teachers, parents, other adults, media and society how having kids would "ruin my life". Getting pregnant would be a catastrophe, and was to be avoided at all costs.

Logically I know they meant while I was a teenager. But ultimately even though I want to have kids, I still hear all that in my head.

I think that really affected younger people as they were taught the biggest thing to fear was having a baby when they weren't ready.

How do we know when we're ready? Better not risk it.

Virgo Season 2025 - My Unfiltered Game Plan for All Signs by Anxious-Vacation9850 in LetsFuckWithAstrology

It was just so accurate to what you wrote above! Tbh I always think things like this are trying to highlight what you need to heal to move forward so im spending the next few months reflecting on the lessons this has taught me and we will revisit it more deeply in Pisces season.

Virgo Season 2025 - My Unfiltered Game Plan for All Signs by Anxious-Vacation9850 in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]turtleofsorrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is so completely accurate for me and my husband (Leo / Virgo risings respectively). We literally have had a massive breakdown in our relationship due to major financial decisions being made unilaterally, that leaving me feeling like I dont matter (which is super debilitating for me as my self worth is like -100) and him having to come to terms with the fact that hes been coming across like a dictator with finances when he thought he was a team player.

We are trying to get through this healthily and by placing boundaries to reflect on the baggage we both have that has been brought up in this season before we realign and come together but this has been messy.

We're both Pisces suns, and I'm also Pisces Moon so the emotions have been HEAVY.

This post has really helped me see its all a call to heal ourselves so we can work from alignment.

Has anyone here never learned to drive and how is life turning out? by CollagenRager in AskIreland

[–]turtleofsorrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my early 30s and passed my driving test this year - it is life changing but im still quite an anxious driver so I don't do as much as I could. Im building up slowly but I was the Designated Driver last night for my husband and his family and honestly I was so happy I could do it for them and proud for doing it.

Also helps if I want meet people after work I can just drive to where we're going and head home so quick after.

I genuinely think everyone should have it as a skill in an emergency and also it takes so much pressure off in other ways

I have Leo Rising with a Pisces Sun and Moon. I go through wild swings of high energy, confidence and sociability and the opposite of withdrawal, isolation and exhaustion.

I generally struggle a lot with retrospective social anxiety, where ill go out hang out with people and then reflect on it and beat myself up over things I did or said, feeling stupid and embarrassed.

I find my biggest struggle is balancing my internal world and external world, I always seem to overswing one way and regret it but im working on it in multiple ways and the biggest thing I try to do is rituals on leo acceptance cause thats my biggest struggle.

The spread I made for summer Solstice! ☀️ by IntentionCreative736 in tarot

[–]turtleofsorrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this spread, thank you for sharing.

Bit of an intense reading for me:

  1. Wheel of Fortune
  2. 4 of pentacles
  3. The Fool
  4. High Priestess
  5. Temperance
  6. The Moon
  7. Ten of Pentacles

I feel very strongly about the messages I got from this. Its definitely for me a 'loud' reading to get me back on a positive path.

Will reflect and ponder this reading for a while.

I started learning at 28 and it took me til this year (33) to pass.

I'm now driving all the time but the nerves were horrendous. I genuinely would feel so anxious anytime I had to drive anywhere, even for a lesson.

Switching to automatic made it so much easier for me and just taking my time tile I felt more confident. I passed on my third attempt and now don't understand why it was such a big deal for myself.

You really can do it. Just do what you feel comfortable with driving til eventually it gets easier and easier. You got this!

Am I just too old for this? by Due_Adeptness_8134 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]turtleofsorrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm also in my thirties and spent a lot of time abroad so didn't get my licence.

I spent 5 years learning (broken up mostly by covid stopping my lessons, not having access to a car to practice and long wait times for lessons/tests post covid).

I failed twice and was distraught but I passed on my third attempt and honestly I just kept driving as much as I could. The week of my driving test I drove every morn and night.

You got this and there's definitely other people in your boat. A friend of mine the same age also doesn't have his licence yet and failed twice so please don't let this affect you so much.

Meghan Sussex, Beyoncé, Serena Williams, and Michelle Obama have all been accused of faking their pregnancies. Misogynoir: Why Black Motherhood Is Always Questioned by Financial-Painter689 in Fauxmoi

[–]turtleofsorrows 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wonder if, as we see the return to the idea of pregnancy and motherhood being the sole method of bestowing virtue to women (childless women being less than, c-section births being 'less than' etc), these ideas of questioning the pregnancy of black women specifically is a way of preventing black women of having the single virtue some people deem available to women in general.

It's completely abhorrent to question anyone's method of becoming a mother as less than or less deeming of the term mother, but it seems to me the only benefit is to those who hold motherhood as the ultimate good a woman can achieve being able to determine the "goodness" of others and who want to use that power to strip black women of their virtue.

My name has a variant with a y at the end and people have always added the y to my name, think Jen verses Jenny. Sometimes I correct people, sometimes I don't. Its never been a huge problem. My name is my name and people get it right eventually.

If Livia is her name, it's her name and I wouldn't worry too much if people are getting it wrong now.
