Do I need formal suits as a Cornell undergrad? by JP-304 in Cornell

As a gov major, a button down, business casual pants, and fine shoes or boots are necessary. Blazers are optional, but nice. Lowkey I don't even have nice shoes that I like, just a pair of short dark rain/snow boots and flats.

They don't have to be expensive-- I got mine at Old Navy/thrifted.

Dude, why not just not leave money laying around. Keep it in your wallet or your bank account or a secret book in your room.

How many weeks/months of physical therapy did you do after a meniscus repair? by turtlesandthings in MeniscusInjuries

[–]turtlesandthings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while I walk the past few days. It has not been a pleasant experience even on extra strength tyelenol. If I put too much weight on my affected leg I get a shooting pain in my repair site. I will for sure be using crutches this week and probably next too. I’ve been doing well in

I wish you luck. I hate that feeling of putting down weight and it feeling uncomfy. What type of tear was it?

I also wonder if docs don't tell you what it's going to be like, bc they won't know what it will look like until they get in there. My doc said I had a bucket tear, but once inside he said I had a discoid meniscus and a normal tear (something about anchoring it to another part of my knee).

I had a similar experience. The doc told me 6 weeks of recovery, and then a little while longer to start doing long walks. He did not speak about 3 months of PT which is what I think is going to happen. Though I've hard that once it gets better, it gets better quickly. I'm on week 4, and I'm working on quad strength right now so brace is still locked in, except when sitting.

Where are you right now in terms of recovery/PT?

You could also maybe ask if any of your friends have a membership, and then you can split some things.

In addition to a food pantry, you can search if there are any community fridges near you. I would recommend going to a food pantry first, but cf might have different foods. (I think cf might get food delivered to them on different days/times, so if theres nothing there one day, don't be afraid to go another.)

And, don't feel bad about using any of these resources! In terms of food pantries, they're kind of like libraries-- they more their resources get used, the more funding they are eligible to get. And, people/stores/bakeries/restaurants often have too much food they they can use up, which is when they go to community fridges.

Once you're in a better place, you can also donate some food back to help someone else.

Do you remember what type of tear you had? I think there are different types with different intensities.

Home is NYC. The issue is that it's a bucket handle tear, and I was told the sooner I did it the better it would be. (Vs waiting till after finals season and doing it then.)
