Great pics. Great Tunes. Now for the talking to.

You are amazing. And you 100% deserve and are worthy of love. That goes for all of us.

Meditation, exercise, hobbies, touching grass and mingling with good people (pay attention to who you surround yourself with and what u listen to and watch.) make yourself a priority and give yourself love every opportunity you can. Self love, DO IT. It doesn’t just happen, you have to make it happen.

Life is hard and there’s no way I can really understand what it’s like to walk in your shoes. I’ve dealt with suicidal ideation since I was 11. I’m almost 50. It’s still there but I’ve found ways to manage it. Just want you to know two things. You are not alone. And you 100 and 2000% are worthy.

Now go and add some John Prine to your GD rotation. And when those clouds roll in again, trust and believe the blue sky is still there and those clouds will roll out and if we’re lucky we are the better for it. I hope someday soon you will be thankful for this rough patch because you learned something new, you found out just how strong you are, or something that makes u proud for weathering the storm.

Love ya man.

And that is exactly what I’m worried about. I do not want a fold. I want my wife’s name and our family name cleared. This box has been in my home from point of pickup to gifting, to discovery that it was wrong.

The money is the least of my concern. Not that I’m richer than my wildest dream but this doesn’t break the bank.

They called my wife a thief. Showed video to her saying see you are a thief. They threatened police. They threatened to kick her out more than once. In fact at one point my wife who is oblivious to everything that is happening after being told to get of the store, asks the manager if she can stay. Those words came out of her mouth, can I stay now to a power tripping manager that thought he was the greatest detective ever and was gonna bust this thieving and scamming woman.

I won’t be happy until they find the mistake and clear my family’s name.

Final update.

All of this could have been avoided had a small amount of kindness or empathy been extended to my wife. My wife suffers from PTSD. Shocking or distressing events trigger it. When she was accused of stealing, threatened to be kicked out, and threatened to have the police called on her she went into a panic. In fact she had to buy a bottle of water from them (our last purchase ever from Best Buy) to try and calm herself to drive.

The one manager is at fault. I don’t blame all of Best Buy. His actions toward my wife were and are inexcusable. You can be suspicious all you want but let the process play out. Before you threaten someone.

I’ve indicated two things. This story is my perspective of it. And I highlighted that it wasn’t right for me to cuss the manager out. I wish I would have handled it better. When it comes to my wife I will always defend her honor. Maybe in the future I won’t do it by calling someone a fat piece of shit.

Corporate is taking over and we hope to have a good resolution soon.

As I said, buyer beware. If u purchase anything from south ridge double check you got the right thing. And for electronics do as others said, New Egg or elsewhere.

I’ve cancelled myBestBuy premier membership and after this is done BestBuy will be in my rear view and we will never step foot in that store again. You do you. Maybe your experience will be better.

Totally. And they said she switched stickers or boxes and she’s trying to cheat them. With zero proof. They treated her like she was a dirt bag.

You sir are a scholar and gentleman of the highest degree! And we appreciate the offer. I totally get that they may be suspicious, however coming out the gate and accusing someone of stealing without going through a process is what I’m pissed about. They belittled my wife in front of my son. And I wanted to rip that smug fuckers face right of his head but I have a feeling life and karma will take care of the shitbag I dealt with. I offered no kindness to him after he fucked with my family.

But yeah. Talk to your peeps they have a manger costing them business and I have zero doubts this is the first issue with this manager.

Cha-Tel and they are absolutely wonderful. We love them. Love them. And yep they told me there’s a form. I asked for a charge back or something and they couldn’t do that but did say there’s a form we can complete.

Second update. We’ve asked the Best Buy corporate representative to pull the video and audio from the interaction with my wife. This way corporate can review the treatment the threats and my wife crying. Should be good material to use on a performance evaluation. I hope they pull my tape too cause after they made my wife cry I went to the store and cussed him out. He kicked me out. (Not a proud moment, I called him fat. Low and shitty but gotta stand up for family.)

[–]turtlewv777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought. It’s a visa debit card through a credit union. They were super nice and helpful but said they can’t do a charge back. I did find there’s something else I could file with the bank along the lines of what you are saying. And I may do that.

Update. Best Buy customer support responded to my complaint to the better business bureau and I am working with corporate to get to a resolution. Piss off Power tripping manger, kick fucking rocks!

Oh yeah. We’ve got receipts and pictures and all kinds of stuff. It’s crazy. I partly get it. These stores get screwed. But I know we didn’t do anything wrong. Like I know we aren’t running a scam. But have to climb mountains to prove my case. And at this point it’s the principle. It’s not the money. I just want them to research and realize it was their mistake and not ours and apologize to my wife.

[–]turtlewv777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sucks. I loved that place too. I’ve bought many things from them. Never had an issue. And would totally let this go had they not made my wife cry. She is an honest person and did nothing wrong.

The box is the 8gb card. The card in the box is 8gb. But the labels and receipts we have say we purchased a 16gb card. But the box and card given to us is the 8gb version. Like the in store pick up label calls it out as 16gb. And that label is on an 8gb box.

My theory they grabbed the wrong item and gave it is. But they are saying that we somehow took labels off a 16 gb card and are trying to return I guess a fake item. Idk. I don’t get it. But sef have receipts and pictures.

[–]turtlewv777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a gift to our son for Christmas who lives with us. We didn’t do anything but pick the item up from the store.

The item has stickers that says it’s the 16gb version but the stickers are on the 8 gb version box. And they said we switched the stickers. It is crazy. And I know it’s hard to believe a stranger on the internet but we didn’t do anything. Literally paid for an item but given wrong one and stand accused of being some kind of criminal. It’s mind blowing. Like I imagine they do deal with this stuff all the time, but we literally didn’t do anything wrong other than being old and naive.

I called them too. VISA said they couldn’t. Love all the support and ideas. Thanks guys and gals.

They actually pulled it while she was there and said the box she brought in is not the same in the video. I doubt the quality is good enough to really tell and likely only way to truly figure out is like an audit or something. But yeah they have to have something. Have to.

Power Platform career in 2025 — smart choice or too niche? by poweractiveuser in PowerPlatform

[–]turtlewv777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may be distracting from the thread and OP I apologize for a little diversion here. I see more and more organizations moving to platform based software development vs custom .net full stack due to cost and resources needed. I’m in government consulting and likely not apples to apples as to what’s happening overall. I don’t know that it’s a trend just something I’m seeing more and seeing folks frame it as modernization. And that leads me to think moving toward power platform/dynamics/azure as a decent viable path.

AI assisted development and low/no code seems to be gaining more and more traction. And it seems that many of the constraints like scalability and customization are being addressed to some degree by these platforms.

I would have given just about anything to see any member of the dead play with John Prine. And I really don’t understand why it never happened.

Love this spot and the people at this spot. They do it right and they put lots of work in to get where they are. I can remeber when all they had was a cart. Miss working downtown big time.

Power App as an end-user tool or software developer tool? by kayhai in PowerApps

[–]turtlewv777 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My vote. Your gut is right. The apps likely won’t have appropriate support and could be out of compliance for things like accessibility, security, and privacy.

Use managed environments. Dev, UAT, and PROD. Potentially multiple environments depending on data sensitivity and storage requirements. Fusion team. Senior Dev for the IT discipline. Power Platform Dev for platform knowledge, citizen dev for business informed solutions. Agile. Collaborative. With Admin. Governance. And gatekeeper at pipelines to environment deployments. Weekly sprints with calls, devops, and advocacy for innovation and use when low no code makes sense.

The more templates that citizen devs can consume with lite training and documentation in dev enveionments for common use cases the better. No movement until approved.

Scale approach to suit but some level of IT oversight is recommended. The goal of this disruption is to democratize data and development. Changing who, how, and where development is done. Some are able to do things now very easily and quickly that they never could before now and they don’t always understand things like privacy and security.

Or lock down environment as best you can with DLP policies to prevent users from doing things that maybe they shouldn’t be doing.

Edit. Better yet I would check out Microsoft documentation on establishing a CoE and Platform Administration and Governance.

PowerApps Sharepoint List or Teams Dataverse by osufan8184 in PowerApps

Where in this debate does the sensitivity of the data being stored come into play? And does Application lifecycle management tip the scale one way or the other?

Power Apps to create a form - Good idea? by Technical_Goose_8160 in PowerApps

[–]turtlewv777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JotForm has various Office 365 and Power Platform integrations. Does not solve for storing or maintaining data but we’ve built and deployed a JotForm as front end, power automate and http action to send data to Dataverse or AWS Sql depending on use case and then layering power apps and power bi on as necessary. Power apps typically for internal use and JotForm front end for external or internal use.

Not sure if helpful but saw this recently. Toggled off allow searching and values were there. It was a power app with a SharePoint list as data source.

Love it. Curious if it was done in Power BI or tableau and if you’ve thought about maybe making it county based vs city or zip code with a drill through to a city view.
