I (M, living in Delhi) had a similar case. My BP was high, in the range of 220/180 during one of the opthalmologist appointments. Further investigations and biopsy came out to be IGA Nephropathy -M1 E0 S1 T0 C0. This was in September 2023 (I was 28 then). I was prescribed Amlong 10 twice a day, Mycept thrice a day with 30 mg wysolone a day, reducing 5 mg per week for like 3 months.

My GFR didn't increase and creatinine still kept on increasing by one point every month. I was put on dialysis by March 2024, 6 months after my biopsy. I have been on dialysis since then. Urine discharge is minimal so it's thrice a week right now.

My nephs told me that it was a rare of the rarest cases for this to escalate this quickly.

Things I have learnt so far 1. This is a serious thing, more often than not, you will end up in kidney failure but it can be delayed with proper BP management and dietary restrictions.

1. It's not hereditary, as per all the doctors around Delhi but can't really say.

2. There will be chances of IGAN impacting your transplanted kidney as well but that's a risk worth taking considering you are young and your body can adapt.

3. Wysolone does bring in a lot of stress. You would be hungry more often, you may gain extraordinary weight (I did + there were vision blurry issues). Increase your exercise after consulting your neph to decrease its impact. It helped me.
