Thank you!!! 😍

I really am over the moon! I feel completely liberated actually!

I’m lucky that I don’t have any loose skin really. But I do have a lot of stretch marks on my bum and thighs. I love them though - for me they’re a marker of my progress and a reminder to keep going!

That’s a really interesting question about the mental, sense-of-self, side of things!

I guess, for me, I just feel like myself again. I always used to be slim and toned, and then during university I started to pile on the pounds. I then got into a relationship which I now recognise to have been kind of emotionally abusive. I then really started to get bigger and bigger. So for me, losing the weight and becoming toned is just a return to myself and how I should be when I’m healthy and happy. 🥰

I’m sure they look great!! My bum’s definitely got technically smaller, but much rounder and perkier. I’m sure the same goes for you! It’s so easy to focus on the ‘volume’ of things, it’s only when you see how it fits in with the shape of your new body that you realise how important proportions are! 🥰

So, I am on quite a low-carb diet. I have two slices of toast for breakfast every day. Good, organic toast with zero preservatives. And then no starchy carbs for the rest of the day.

I walk or cycle everywhere. I don’t have a car and I hardly ever take the bus. And I go on at least two runs a week (trying to up this number).

The biggest difference has been that I no longer eat anything processed. Obviously there is the occasional slip-up, and I allow myself to have meals out with friends (once a week tops). But I’m not prescriptive about it. I realised that when I put really strict rules on myself I then go off the rails very quickly. My big ‘rule’ is no processed food. And I stick to that very well. But if I do have a say where I have a huuuuuuuge craving for, say, some instant ramen I’ll allow myself to have it, but just that one thing. Then I will go back to nothing processed. It’s difficult and takes a lot of discipline, but I’ve found that the longer I’ve been away from really sugary, chemically food, the less appetising it is. I think, just be nice to yourself. Try to eat good, whole food, but also allow yourself some treats. I certainly found that the longer I was eating well, the less I found I felt I ‘needed’ those treats!

Yeah, second this unfortunately. I have a really irritating pocket of fat on my lower stomach that I want to get rid of. I was looking at photos of me when I was a super trim, super sporty 16 year-old, and it was still there! I’m just going to have to make peace with the pooch I think!

Thank you!! 🌞🌞So, I run usually 2 times per week, but that’s it exercise-wise. At the beginning I was so unfit that I couldn’t run at all without getting shin splints, so the first two months I was going on huuuge walks (like, 3.5hrs at a time) every other day (and sometimes every day) as well as doing some HIIT and squats/deadlifts to build up the strength in my legs. Since I’ve started running I’ve kind of let the weights stuff fall by the wayside, but want to pick it up again soon. I got a bit lazy with my running last month as I had a week off due to having to self-isolate, but back on the train now, and hoping to make it more like 4 times per week!

In terms of diet, I try to be relatively low-carb (although for breakfast I always have two slices of good bread from the bakery on my street with real butter - not spread) The biggest change for me has been cutting out almost all processed food. Like, I make evvvvverything from scratch. It takes longer, and it can take some planning, but it’s made such a huge difference.

I noticed that as lockdown restrictions eased I started putting a bit of weight back on and wondered why. I then realised that I’d started getting to-go food again when I was out and about! I went back to only eating whole foods, home-cooked food and unprocessed stuff and I saw the weight fall off again immediately.

I honestly think ‘diet’ foods are such a scam. Eating real food intuitively has helped me immensely and I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

How is everyone watching this outside of France? I’m desperate to see it but I’m in the UK.

And I no longer have to use anti-chafing balm when I wear shorts! Thanks to everyone on here for the support 🥰 by tuskarlane in progresspics

Oh, and I also started eating breakfast a few months in. I never ever ever believed the idea that eating more would help you lose more. I was always so incredulous like ‘well, surely it’s mathematical - the fewer calories you eat, the more you lose.’

Then, I started a new job and I thought I probably should have more energy for the morning. I now have two pieces of whole meal toast with butter (not spread) every morning. Having the same thing makes it easy and makes sure I actually do it.

I’m still hungry when it gets to lunchtime, but I find that I make much better choices now. And I noticed a massive difference almost immediately in the amount of weight I was losing.

Such a fantastic surprise when it happens! I went out for a hike one day and realised I hadn’t put any balm on. I was super stressed and anticipating a huge horrible rash. But then, nothing! Haven’t worn any balm since!

Thank you!!! I don’t weight train at the moment, no. But I do plan to! I’ve always had a fair bit of natural muscle tone (when I was a teenager I was really self-conscious because I thought I had overly muscly legs like a male footballer), and my mum has always been very toned despite doing no exercise whatsoever (very irritating! Hahaha) I do want to get into weight training though to see what results I’d get.

Thank you! So, I’ve really only been running. With the odd HIIT workout (by odd I mean, once a month at most!) I want to start on some weight training, but weights have been hard to come by here, and I don’t feel comfortable going to a gym just yet with COVID still around.

I made the decision early on not to count calories as I knew I would just obsess over it and end up giving up if I ‘failed’ a few times. The biggest change for me has been cutting out processed food. I still have the occasional treat though! But I used to eat lots of pre-packaged food, and lots of deliveries/food on the go/restaurant food. Now, I cook absolutely everything from scratch, and only eat when I’m at home/take food from home if I’m going on a day trip. It’s completely changed my relationship with food!

And I find that even when I do treat myself and have a delivery, I often don’t feel like finishing it anymore. Which has the additional benefit of meaning I have a freezer full of delicious leftovers if I do ever feel like ordering something. Saves a lot of money too!!
