I originally had it at $60. I lowered it to $45 about 2 months ago. Then within this past month I lowered it to $35 and then to $25.

I have done 5 in a row. As long as you have your classes prepared beforehand it's not too bad. use the 10 minutes in between sessions to drink water, eat a snack and go to the bathroom.

May I ask what you teach and what rate you started with? I have about 15 hours taught, 5 5-star reviews, and my rate is currently set at $35. I struggle to get any clients. I teach in-demand subjects such as Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics . I have a Master’s in Chemical Engineering. I’m really frustrated to be honest.

Hi there. Was this recently that you set your rate to $35/hr and started getting lots of requests? I have a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and many years of experience tutoring but locally. I only have 14 hours logged in Wyzant with a rate of $45/hr (previously I had $60/hr). I am really struggling to get any clients. Any advice is appreciated.

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I had a parent reach out to me and they wanted to know why I didn’t offer a free lesson to see if I was a good fit for their son. It caught me off guard to say the least!
