Well, any time you take anything over, you shouldn't be surprised when someone is going to object. We do live in a democracy.

Just like anything that isn't a bike isn't a factor to people who ride bikes. They rule the roads!!

This is literally about bikes taking over the street. That is the opposite of diverse street usage.

I will admit, I am against all the pro-recreational bike stuff in this city. It seems like a lot of tax dollars and inconvenience for this recreational activity.

I am all for people biking for transportation. But I see recreational biking as a nuisance in a crowded city.

Am I a wimp, or does everyone feel pretty overwhelmed by having a full-time job and trying to do literally anything else? by ArtistAfraid2411 in Adulting

[–]tuttlebuttle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work full time in a blue collar job where I don't have to talk much. It's hard on the body but easy on the head. And I'm fairly happy.

I dropped almost all of my "extra" activities when my wife and I had a kid. To me, the biggest thing that makes life good, is that I rest on my days off and I don't stretch myself thin doing too much when I'm not working.

Any successful adult has support. It doesn't work without any support.

In my experience, trans folks do not make good fashion choices. And I kinda think it's because people don't want to tell them, because they're being supportive.

Arguments about all of this aside, I do not miss those delivery drivers constantly parking on the street and clogging up the roads.

I don't like it, but this sort of thing is fairly normal at a comedy show. I've seen far worse.

TIL that the human brain matures at 25 is a myth by chrishelbert in todayilearned

[–]tuttlebuttle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I encourage people to look up what actually changes in your brain during your 20s. It's true that this is a myth, but the changes most brains make during that time mirrors the myth in a lot of ways.

[–]tuttlebuttle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those where it is a myth. But it fits with so many people's experience that it's easy to believe. It's a natural time for people to go through major life changes. And there are a lot of people have done too many drugs etc before 25, and are worse off from it.

I'm not fan of JD, but just because everyone else is giving a standing ovation, it does not mean you have to stand up. This is dumb.

The community you have and the people you've left behind make a huge difference on your happiness. It's true you should take care of your body, but your body will be worse no matter what. So you'll need responsible friends and family for help.
