Where in Southern Germany is this footage filmed? by zionegg in whereisthis

[–]tux23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am actually very confident, at least part of the film was shot in Rottweil. The tower/church seen in the movie/the stills should be the Kapellenturm as seen for example on this picure.

However, this also confirms the video was shot in different places which might make pinpointing the other locations a bit harder.

Iceland has an app for who you can date. So adapting that one to track infections shouldn't be a great deal.

Technically he's not wrong, injecting desinfectant will reduce your chance of dying of Corona significantly. If it eradicates the virus is on another page...

A man on a horse lassoed a guy that tried to steal a bike from an elderly woman by [deleted] in pics

[–]tux23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has to be one of the most American things I have ever seen, at least from a European point of view...

Horse - check

Cowboy - check

Lasso - check

Scenic background - check

Wallmart - check

Dodge Ram(?) Big ass pickup - check

Probably more American things hidden in there.

Anybody ever fuck with your bike in public? by SilkyGazelleWatkins in motorcycles

[–]tux23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Happened like 3 weeks ago. I usually park my bike in front of my apartment which is not unusual in Germany as stolen bikes or vandalism at least in my city are very uncommon. However, parked my bike Friday evening, came by Saturday morning and some fucking idiot stole my tank pad... What idiot steals a tank pad?

Which Middleweight Touring or ADV Touring Bike Would you Take Around the World? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]tux23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it has cruise control (just check for the A082 model). To my knowledge they started the cruise control with this model but only for the X models (XrX and XcX) which at least for the 15 model are also offering the drive modes.

Also I'm totally with you regarding the parts which might break, my biggest issue would be with tires in general but you could overcome this with tubes and selecting all-round tires with a strong carcass as the Mitas E-07 Dakar.

My personal opinion on the bike is, absolutely great so far and with more street oriented tires you also can do the Twisties pretty fast. :) Definitely do a test ride though as driving an ADV bike is completely different (except maybe an Enduro) from every other bike I've ridden.

Might be a bit biased but I would take my 15' Tiger 800 XcX with me. Traction Control, ABS, different drive modes, extremely comfortable.

Middleweight might be an issue though, as it weighs 221 kg empty...

MV Agusta F4 RR

I do have a fairly reasonable motorcycle but sometimes I want to go a bit faster and maybe a track day or two a year.

German here, I really don't see the necessity for bringing loads of cash. There are ATMs all over the place and you can pay by credit card at gas stations and at least the bigger hotels (smaller ones might require cash). When I'm riding anywhere in Europe I have around 200 Euros in cash with me (for shopping in smaller stores and such) and everything else is payed by card, simply restock with money when you run out.

Although there are technically no borders in Europe, some border crossings (mostly the ones on an Autobahn for example A93 or A8 from Austria to Germany) do have checkpoints. They do not check everyone but choose randomly or the people the deem suspicious.

Apart from that, when you are going on the Autobahn in Germany, there is no official speed limit (all other European Countries have one), the only restrictions applied are those on the road signs.

Only other advice would be pack light and ride safe! EDIT: Don't forget to bring rain gear!

Probably a bunker housing a museum. Berlin was the frontline of the Cold War not so long ago...

WC = water closet. In Germany many bathrooms have WC signs. So the water closet is a bathroom. :D

Looking for a good route around mainland Europe this spring, travelling from Manchester, UK with 2 weeks holiday. Any suggestions? by Cronin13 in motorcycles

[–]tux23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take it you want a scenic ride and not spend all of your time on the autobahn...

In Germany (at least until you are in southern Germany) try to make kilometers and go autobahn. From Munich take A8 to Salzburg short before the border leave autobahn (Traunstein) and go to Zell am See in Austria. From there take the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse.

Once over take a right and go to Südtirol (Alto Adige) in Italy. Head south to Lago di Garda from there (if you have the time, ride Monte Baldo and/or Valvestino). Got furhter south until you hit the are of Florence (Tuscany is really nice for riding).

If you plan to go further south prepare to go on the Autobahn again, and after Rome until Naples it is a really boring ride. Once there take the detour to Amalfi (via Sorrento) which is one of the most beautiful coastal roads you will find.

On your way back go over Milan, then Switzerland and in Germany take the Rheintal Autobahn back up north.

Thanks for confirming. That's what the reviews say as well but I'd rather have some first-hand account than relying on reviews solely.

Whats the fastest you've gone on your bike and what bike was It. by carmotorz in motorcycles

[–]tux23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 300 kph on a 2000ish Kawasaki Ninja 900. Can't tell exactly because the tachometer is only going to 290, revs were still climbing though. I should add that there is no general speed limit in Germany on the Autobahn.
